If you can get behind the notion of old school difficulty and adore the WarioWare formula, NES Remix will hit all the right notes.

A brilliant reminder of Ninty's design genius, hampered by iffy game selection. [March 2014, p.83]

It misses an extra push to become a great playable tribute, but still is a fun way of (re)discover these NES classics.
  5. A brilliant idea, handled carelessly. Some of these oldies are far from golden, but with some fine-tuning, a sequel would be very welcome indeed.

As with many reconstituted products, NES Remix is immediately delicious, but inspires an obsession that it can't sustain for long.

As if getting excited for the involved games wasn't difficult enough, NES Remix's ideas for challenges are repetitive and widely underwhelming. The arbitrary goals friends assign each other for games they've mastered are better than all but NES Remix's few fleeting moments of greatness, and that's genuinely disappointing when considering Nintendo's usual brilliance at reworking its history in enjoyable ways.

Sure, I would have rather used my Wii remote than the GamePad, but that didn't cut back on my fun any less. If you're into this sort of thing, it shouldn't be difficult to give up $15 for this.
