  • Summary: NINJA GAIDEN 3: Razor's Edge promises to be a leaner, tighter experience than the original game. Significantly reduced scripted sequences, streamlined game flow, and improved A.I. complement an array of new features exclusive to the Wii U console.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge is the game Ninja Gaiden 3 should have been a year ago. Still not perfect, but at least now it's an enjoyable experience rather than a painful one. [Feb 2013]

Razor's Edge is a better game than the original Ninja Gaiden 3 and a worthy option for Wii U users.

There’s still the occasionally spastic camera to deal with – as if even the game itself can’t keep up with what’s going on – and the feeling that something bad-ass is happening with all those button presses without really knowing what, so if you want nuance, just keep looking.

Despite the inconsistent difficulty and the terrible camera, it’s still a vastly superior game to the original release – by a long, long way. It’s infinitely more fun to play, looks and runs better and features buckets upon buckets more blood and gore.

  1. Great game. Difficulty is actually quite high. I didn't expect the bosses to be quite so... daunting. lol

Having not played a NG game sin
ce the NES days, I went into this not knowing what to expect, and kinda cautious about what had happened to the series over the decades. I was not disappointed, in fact, I'd say I'm impressed. Visually, it's a very pretty game. Ayane, and Ryu and co all look very good. The voice overs are great, and overall, it's a wonderful game.

So far, I've played only the campaign, but it's great. Worth a try? Definitely.

  2. When I first played this game on Xbox 360, I really didn't like it. It had a lot of problems and it was overall very disappointing. Well all those problems are now fixed, there's a few extra features, and this game is incredible. The Wii U version is the only version you should play of this game. Expand
  3. Just picked up the game today and I love it! Finally, the Ninja Gaiden we have to come to love and know is back. Never thought I'd play Ninja Gaiden 3 based off the abysmal demo I played on the 360 and all the negative reviews tore it to shreds, but Razor's Edge has fixed a lot (almost all) of it's problems!

    PROS
    -Customizable weapons alongside leveling system
-Bloody/Gore like excessive ridiculous over the top limb slicing gore
-It is amazing to play this on your gamepad
-Really hard in a good old school way
    -looks beautiful

    CONS
-framerate slows down when multiple enemies are surrounding you, I experienced this right from the get-go in the London level
    -Story is meh
-So far I couldn't find anyone online to play with. Not a good sign
-Hard to keep up with combos on gamepad

Overall, I'm very satisfied buying it and I can't wait to beat it. I hope people give Razor's Edge a chance, it's worthy of your time

  4. Certainly an improvement over the previous versions, however the game is not without its fair share of flaws. Like most games in the series, Razor's Edge is very challenging, and the improved AI certainly adds to this with intense combat situations that will punish you severely for even the slightest error. However, several points in the game seem to derive their challenge more from poor design choices and cheap tricks rather than genuine difficulty. However, despite these short comings, NG3 RE is a good choice for people looking for a challenging game on the WiiU or any system on the current market. Expand
