  • Summary: Years after the battle against Orochi, the Serpent King, the heroes of the Three Kingdoms and the Warring States struggle to seize control of the new universe they were thrown into when a new threat arises. A terrible and colossal monster, resembling a serpent with eight heads, casts its shadow across the land and defeats most of the brave warriors. The ones that survived, assisted by the mysterious Kaguya, travel back through time to save fallen warriors and forge new alliances, collect powerful weapons and build an army so they can have a chance to defeat the terrible Hydra. But that is not all the help they'll get this time, as the vortex created by Orochi drags a few more allies to their universe. Dragon Ninja Ryu Hayabusa, Achilles, Jeanne d'Arc, Nemea and Ayane are only a few of the new additions to the 120 plus playable character roster! Collapse

What it lacks in graphical fidelity, Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper more than makes up for in every other area, with the standard en masse battling fare proving as thrilling as ever, now complete with crazy time travelling storyline to make the missions more intriguing.

An interesting Wii U port of an already PS3 / Xbox 360 hack´n slash adventure that offers the same epic battles... with some minor technical issues not found in the original.

Warriors Orochi 3 for Wii U is graphically a little below the PS3 and 360 versions, and the new content is not so great, but it is still very good and offers a coop mode in which each player plays on his own screen (TV/GamePad), which is a good addition.

Definitely not the best WiiU port around, plagued by aliasing and framerate troubles. Still, it remains one of the best Musou games on the market, and with added content too.

Warriors Orochi 3, despite the few expectations for yet another Musou, proved to be a fun and intriguing title, with only some technical issues to ruin the formula.

Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper is an uninspired port of an excellent game. There are missed opportunities regarding the Wii U's unique features and the slow down, frame rate and draw distance issues make this version the least appealing on the market. It never breaks the experience completely though, and its bonkers narrative and absorbing hack 'n' slash action is so engaging that's it's easier than you might think to look past the limitations and enjoy the oodles of content.

As it stands, this is absolutely not worth getting if you played the original, and even newcomers will be disappointed by its substandard presentation. The heart of a really good game beats within its chest, but Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper is marred by too many blemishes to do it justice.

For me personally this game gets 10/10 simply cause I love the frantic over the top action and the silly humour of the Warriors game titles. The coop mode is also the best I have found in the series yet. The whole game can be played cooperatively and really is twice the fun with a good friend or in my case my wife.
She loved this game too. We played through the game completely and it took us quite some time after the medium difficulty setting we set off for higher grounds and tried out the higher ones. That gave us quite some replay value. There are like 100 Characters to choose from and they´re almost all completely different from their combo´s and animations. This is pure hacking and slashing wonderland! Buy this game of you want some chillaxing groovy times while bashing thousands of heads in. We even reached the KO limit once which was 9999 flatted solders, per player... oh great great great game!!

But I gotta admit, this kind of game is one of those you either hate it or love it

Absolute blast. Warriors Orochi 3 was a phenomenal game by itself. Improving virtually every aspect of Warriors Orochi 2 in graphics gameplay challenge fun and replay value. There's a bunch of new characters from an already enormous roster list. The chaos mode is really difficult (which is an improvement over the 2nd one), they improved abilities and weaponry by making it easier and more understandable- and for that matter less cheap. Also in a lot of ways- while some characters still aren't perfect, almost are the characters are playable if not excellent. The storyline is at best decent but thats still a drastic improvement from it's old "Orochi just showed up and everything went to crap" story. On that note, there are an enormous amount of stages to choose from and all of them are fun. The only thing I miss a little is that there is only ONE story mode instead of several. But in a way it makes the game more uniform and less confusing on the story. But the fluidity of this game has never been better and I haven't had such a good time on Koei games since this one. And it being on the Wii U made it even better. HD is amazing, incredibly sharp, and being able to post easily on the Miiverse with other lovers of the game is great. The battle mode is ridiculous but all the more fun to do. Making your own stages is ridiculous. Oh and also- there's a few more characters and levels to choose from in the Hyper edition. Did I mention the online is awesome too? Even better still is the ability to play 2 players. And if you don't want to split the screen you can play on the Wii U pad and the other play on the TV. It's phenomenal!

The short version: This game rocks harder than the other DW and SW and OW games before it. If you like those, you'll love this. If beat em ups aren't your thing you won't like it. But if you haven't played any of them in the series this is a great place to start and have a blast with a buddy! One of the best games co-op games of all time- and on the Wii U it's even better. The Wii U is great, this game is great. Fun for everyone!

While it's certainly true that most of the games that Tecmo Koei makes nowadays are exactly the same thing with the only difference being characters and setting, that doesn't mean that they're bad, especially not when they deliver to an audience that hasn't had a good dose of their best. The Wii U version of Warriors Orochi 3 is different from the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions being that it has four extra characters (Seimei Abe, Shennong, Rachel and Momiji) and a new Duel Mode that is surprisingly an interesting addition. The core gameplay is the same hack-and-slash routine we've come to expect, but it's done so well that it almost doesn't matter, making you feel like a total badass when you cut down about thirty enemies with a single combo. The most pressing issue for this game is that it doesn't look quite as good as its counterparts and the enemies suddenly popping in when it looks like you have a clear path is really annoying. That, and quite a few of the characters aren't exactly balanced (Some characters being way too weak and others being way too strong or having combos that go on for too long), thus making fighting them in the Duel Mode seem a little unfair. Regardless of that, this is probably the definitive version of this game and I highly recommend it. Not to mention you can play as Ryu Hayabusa. Come on, that's cool. Expand
