When legendary Greek god Zeus brings you back to life with those famous words, you set forth on a mission to rescue his daughter, Athena, from the wicked God of the Underworld, Neff. To survive the gauntlet of mythological foes, you must hunt down the three-headed wolves that inhabit each stage and collect the Spirit Balls that they release. The Spirit Balls increase your strength and allow you to transform into a variety of forms, including a Werewolf, Weredragon, Werebear, Weretiger and the ultimate form, the Golden Werewolf. Each creature possesses powerful attacks to help bring an end to Neff's scheme. Collapse

You play as aA classic arcade beat-'em-up from Sega that tends to be maligned in gaming circles; personally I found this to be a lot of fun. You play as a Greek mythology hero raised from the dead (with the famously-bad digital speech at the open: "Wise fwom youw gwave") battling through hordes of demons and monsters to do battle with a god who has kidnapped Zeus' daughter (I think?). The story is irrelevant, though it does provide some funny moments at the end after you beat the game, and unless you are really terrible you will beat this game with a little practice (or the "unlimited continues" option selected). As with some of the other arcade games on the Wii Virtual Console, this title offers little replay value. Expand

"Wise fwom youw gwave." For all the mockery this game gets, it's really not that bad. Granted, it's not that great, either, but either way"Wise fwom youw gwave." For all the mockery this game gets, it's really not that bad. Granted, it's not that great, either, but either way this arcade port to Wii Virtual Console is a fun romp and an enjoyable trip down memory lane for those who, like me, are in their mid-thirties and spent a good portion of our childhoods pumping quarters into arcade beat-em-ups and fighters. This version does look and play better than its Sega Genesis launch title counterpart, and thanks to arcade machine-style adjustable difficulty level and optional limitless lives continues, it's easy for anyone to pick up and play.
