Its presentation is some of the best on the Wii and will silence those who feel that Nintendo doesn't know modern production values. However, at the same time the gameplay remains the simple and accessible stuff that has sold the console to the masses.
Despite such tactical bugbears, this really is a fun game to play, and the lively atmosphere will keep you coming back for more.

Battalion Wars Wii is ultimately a sequel that doesn’t do enough to make a good series great. The visuals are nice, missions are the right length, and there have been a couple of enhancements in the form of extra units and an online multiplayer mode. However, the distinct lack of offline multiplayer is a significant downside, and disjointed gameplay mechanics makes its description as a 'tactical' action game fit like a pair of clown pants on a size zero model.
If you played and enjoyed the first game, you’ll undoubtedly like BWii. If you’ve never played the series before, try before you buy – this one’s not for everyone.

Battalion Wars 2 boasts enjoyable storylines and presentation along with killer weapons and a dose of strategy. That gets a gold star in our book. Four, even.
While the game does suffer from a few niggling issues, there is nothing else really like it on the Wii, and is a big improvement over the original. If you're into stategic warfare, give Battalion Wars 2 a go.

BW2 is a strategy game that doesn't demand much strategy. That doesn't mean it's not sometimes enjoyable, but it's nothing more than an occasional diversion. [Jan 2008, p.84]
One of the best Wii games for sure. Very challenging campaign with an amazing multiplayer. One of the very few games that offered asymmetrical gameplay in the MP mode "Assault". One player takes on the role of the defender (including structures) while the other one has to attack and conquer within a time limit. So one player is essentially takes on the role of the CPU in the campaign, but with maps specifically made for this mode. 1vs1 online.

This is a fun strategy and unique game. It's very rewarding for a plan to be successful. And also to blow stuff up. The only compliant I have is when you lose units over bad luck or when things are out of your control. Mainly with air units. I set them to wait mode, but they keep picking fights and going to the exact place I don't want them to go. And then they get killed because that place had anti air defense. I lost a bomber in the 2nd to last mission because of that. Also the multiplayer mode is no longer around. You weren't missing too much expect maybe the co op mode. It wasn't much. 3 game modes and 4 to 6 maps each. The only thing I hear about it is that assault mode was badly unbalance. The difficulty is not as hard as the first game, but by endgame it is up there. But this one that you might want to check out.

This game is, in my opinion, one of the best Wii games released. The Wii's motion controls feel nice and at home in this game, something that I feel is missed in a lot of other games in the genre on the Wii. I find the campaign to be short and not all that difficult, but the game made up for this in its online mode, which has unfortunately been taken down. Despite this, I would still recommend playing the game if you have not before, as even without online the game is still solid and enjoyable, with easy to enjoy mechanics, and graphics that still hold up today, as well as a nice soundtrack.

Decent enough little action-strategy game that plays like a third person version of Command & Conquer. It leans more towards action than strategy though, so hardcore armchair tacticians may find it a little shallow for their tastes.
