Unfortunately, Reflex Edition on Wii just doesn’t cut it as a Call of Duty branded game or as a top-tier Wii first-person shooter. The framerate is jumpy, the pointer tracking needs some serious polish, and while most of the elements of COD4 are included, none of them are given enough fine-tuning to truly excel.
  2. Even a clunky, hard-to-control Modern Warfare is better than no Modern Warfare, and Reflex may be fun for Wii owners who haven’t played – or seen – another version of the game. Ultimately, however, Reflex is proof that if there’s a way to make an FPS work on the Wii, no one has found it yet.
  3. This is still a really great game, but it's unable to truly surmount all of the difficulties that Wii puts on an FPS. If you only play one FPS on the Wii, this should be it, but it's still got many of the same problems that the genre is known for on this system.
  4. Is this conversion of Modern Warfare worth the wait? Frankly, no. Wii owners were expecting a more polished game, though the well-known technical limitations of the Nintendo console, while this one comes with mediocre graphics and unresponsive controls.
  5. Call of Duty 4: Reflex Edition could have been an amazing game. With a proper port, this could have been a perfect complement to the previous iteration of the title. However, the port job feels like it was cheaply thrown together, and an unfortunately large amount gets lost in translation.

Modern Warfare may have finally found its way to the Wii, but I wish the original console controls had made the jump as well. Instead, Wii players get a game that forces heavy reliance on aim-assist (especially in multiplayer). The ultimate battle is with the controller, rather than the on-screen bad guys.
  7. Although still passably entertaining much of the time, stood next to other shooters on the Wii it doesn't even come close to matching the look and feel of games designed specifically for the system.
  8. Apart from a few technical issues and a gameplay that might be hard to master for many, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex Edition proves to be a good product, whose qualities, very similar to the PS3, Xbox 360 e PC versions, will surely guarantee hours of fun to the whole Wii user base.
  9. Some effort has gone into this ill-advised port, but it's still a pale shadow of the HD original.
  10. Reflex is a very decent shooter on the Wii. The multiplayer is especially convincing. Pretty much all things you’ve experienced in the version on other consoles is present here, only the weak controls and bad graphics make the game much less of a classic compared to the original. Still, it’s a little late but the release of this game on the Wii is a reason for owners of Nintendo’s console to be happy.

A great game on another platform. Modern Warfare looses much of its graphical glory on Wii and the point & click shooting style works much better with mouse & keyboard or with Smith & Wesson than what it does with Wiimote & nunchuck. With these deficits the game drops down to a mediocre experience. [Dec 2009]
  12. While Reflex still retains the familiar gameplay and gritty urban outlook on war that made the original game such a massive success, it’s still difficult to recommend this severely downgraded port, even if the Wii was the only system available to players.

Technical and control issues mean this is far from the best way to experience it. [Christmas 2009, p.46]
  14. As it stands, Modern Warfare Reflex is merely average. The multiplayer is addictive and the control options are varied, but the watered-down graphics and relentless frame rate problems keep it from being a power player. This game has seen better days, two years ago, in fact.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Reflex Edition is what you'd expect to find out of it. It doesn't live up to the HD versions because the severe graphical hit the game takes, but the multiplayer is still a lot of fun to experience and that alone may make the game worth it for you.

It just doesn't stack up against WaW...It's actually worse, despite being released a year later
