Awesome graphics, jaggy gameplay, grasping story and loads of action.

Even with several errors and limitations, the robust content is here, collecting various virtues, and, at the same time, primary failures, which, even with the help of patches, are condemned. But they are not condemned enough to commit an injustice and say that Conduit is not worth the play. No way.
  3. 60
The Conduit 2 is a significantly improved experience over the previous game, though without adding anything new.

The online multiplayer especially is leaps and bounds better than that of the first game, a welcome change. Overall, Conduit 2 is one of the few decent hardcore games to come down the pipeline in awhile and it's worth a look, especially for those who like their sci-fi shooters.

When playing Conduit 2, it's difficult not to judge the game for what it is in the face of what it would have been with just a bit more bug testing. The frequent glitches, crashes, and spoiled save files seriously hinder gameplay, making it difficult to recommend this to anyone who intends to do much past the title's online multiplayer modes. If you can ignore these problems, Conduit 2 is an entertaining FPS with nice graphics and a good sense of humor, but for me, that proved to be very difficult.

Conduit 2 is a good example of a sequel done right: it's an evolution of the previous game with a multitude of major improvements. With a bolder, brasher single player game, for better or worse, and a far more robust multiplayer mode, Conduit 2 isn't just a good first person shooter by Wii standards. It's a damn good shooter, period.

A wonderful level design and nice graphics will offer a very good Wii shooter. In Conduit 2 you will get action from start to finish.

Conduit 2 is a game which remains relevant primarily thanks to the abysmal selection of competent online multiplayer games on the Wii.

    It's not great. [May 2011, p.48]

Considering the level of flexibility, it's still likely you won't be totally happy with Conduit 2; the campaign is lazy, marred with bad AI, lots of balance issues, poor writing and impotent weaponry. The multiplayer is the sole reprieve, but even then, it's still only a relative high point.

It won't blow your mind. It won't raise the FPS bar. And if you play the big FPS games on HD consoles, moving to this would be like dumping Jessica Alba for Snooki. You just wouldn't do it. But if Wii is your only console this is a refreshingly enjoyable romp arriving right in the middle of a worrying Wii games drought.

The very kindest you could say about Conduit 2 is that it is a guilty pleasure. If you enjoy this, you have a lot to feel guilty about.

If you're into traditional styled shooters, the verdict is an easy one. Starved owners of a Wii the Conduit 2 is a solid buy.
  14. 70
My biggest complaint is that the game just isn't memorable, and there are other shooters I'd rather play.

Conduit 2 suffers in comparison to what's available on the other consoles or the PC, but the addition of motion controls that (mostly) work make it worth a rental, as long as you can get past the goofy story.

It's a lot of fun, and while it's not without flaws, I think it's a definite improvement on the original, and certainly one of the better multiplayer shooters available on the Wii.

High Voltage's shooter sequel is certainly not a vast improvement over The Conduit, but its campy campaign and decent multiplayer is enough to make Conduit 2 worth recommending to fans of the first game. And if you're a fan of shooters who's willing to look past the game's many flaws, you might want to give the game a chance.

The original Conduit was one of my favorite games on the Wii but this one is takes too many steps in the wrong direction.

There's only one 4-minute bit in the entire thing that was fun to play, and that was tailgunning in the spaceship. So at least the whole review wasn't negative, amirite?
  20. 60
If Wii is your only console, if you haven't already played Red Steel 2 and/or Metroid Prime Trilogy, then The Conduit just might be something for you. For everyone else, this is highly passable.

Conduit 2 is a good action game which fills a gap in the Wii games library, with great controls and good gameplay. It lacks that extra quality which would turn it into one of the best games in its genre, but its campaign and multiplayer mode offer quite a lot of fun.
  22. May 2, 2011

Conduit 2 is a massive step forward from the original, refined and improved after criticism from fans and the press; it's a worthy addition to your first person shooter collection, if only for the multiplayer.
  23. May 2, 2011

Buggy, uninspired and unrefined gameplay that has been bested by far better games, and is best suited to those with nothing else to play.
  24. May 1, 2011

Conduit 2 is like a typical B-movie: action, action and even more action. Sometimes the events try to be very spectaculair but somehow it never seems to grab you by the throat. That doesn't matter though, because Conduit 2 is a decent game.

When compared to everything you can play in the FPS genre nowadays, Conduit 2's worth doesn't amount to much. But if you only have a Wii to play on, and are looking for some game of the genre, it still has some qualities, starting with its fairly comprehensive multiplayer. The campaign does its job, albeit barely, and its visual disparity still doesn't exclude some technical prowess. All in all, the overall is a little above average for gamers who are 100% on the Wii... but still well beneath the rest of the experiences you can find on other platforms.

It's fun to play, has some awesome multiplayer and is a massive step forward from the first game in terms of design and philosophy.
  27. Apr 29, 2011

Despite improving over some aspects of the first game, Conduit 2 feels strangely like a first effort. The rough AI, the bizarre and laughable story, and the lack of graphical polish give the impression that this was the first time High Voltage worked on the series.
  28. Apr 29, 2011
    83
Conduit 2 has awesome multiplayer... for a Wii game; the connection is a little slow, and there was some lag every now and again.
  29. Apr 27, 2011

The sequel to The Conduit's out on the streets, offering a bunch of new multiplayer options, graphics improvements and so on. The problem's that it's basically the same game with a few new gameplay modes, including the long-awaited cooperative. 'Tis a pity the plot isn't able the archieve something we haven't seen hundred times before, but still its a buy to consider if you want same fast-paced action.
  30. Apr 26, 2011

It doesn't lack for ambition, but in terms of finesse, innovation and execution this remains a poor advert for HD style shooters on the Wii.
  31. Apr 26, 2011
    87
In the end, I enjoyed Conduit 2 but my only drawback was the game was over before I knew it. Even so, this is the best the Nintendo Wii has to offer in quite some time and if you're needing your first person shooter fix than this is the game to get. It may not break the mould in terms of originality but when it comes to controls and gameplay, Conduit 2 is very sturdy.

Conduit 2 is the good sequel to High Voltage's The Conduit. It features good graphics and good multiplayer, but a too-short single player campaign.
  33. Apr 26, 2011
    75
Conduit 2 is an honest, rewarding shooter, which lacks the depth of some other rival brands, but still succeeds in delivering genuine bullet-packed action.
  34. Apr 25, 2011
    70
Conduit 2 overcomes its problems by offering a long and varied single-player campaign with a good sense of humor.
  35. Apr 25, 2011
    60
Sadly, aside from a sharp online Wii experience, Conduit 2 rarely impresses, relying too much on generic drudgery and sad attempts to capture the magic of more popular titles; worse yet, the storyline and characters seem aimless and forgettable.
  36. Apr 25, 2011
    50
The Conduit got a free pass for being relatively ambitious for Wii shooters, but those days are over: Conduit 2 is a mess of undercooked ideas and impotent execution. It's not that it's a drastically worse game than its predecessor, but the design has been so far surpassed multiple times in the past two years that there is very little reason to return to this underwhelming well.
  37. Apr 25, 2011

Conduit 2 isn't a revolutionary shooter by any means. The plot is cookie-cutter, the graphics and sound design are good but not exactly eye- or ear-popping, and the campaign doesn't present a plethora of new features. The experience is still enjoyable, especially the multiplayer portion and its robust gameplay options. The game still shows a willingness to experiment with a few new guns and modes, and those who love finding bonus material will find a bevy of them here. It's a familiar but solid shooter that Wii owners will appreciate with open arms.

There's not enough difference between the first and second Conduits to say they've made a true evolutionary breakthrough. Although Conduit 2 has more to offer in terms of environmental variety, it retains much of the original game's narrative unoriginality and awkwardness of presentation.
  39. Apr 22, 2011
    50
Unsurprising gameplay and bugs and won't let Conduit 2 impress FPS fans. Multiplayer is ok though. And that alone is a strong point on the Wii.
  40. Apr 22, 2011
    50
Conduit 2 never truly delivers what we were promised. The multiplayer modes and the superb controls try to save the day, but the overall experience is that of a generic, uninspired and boring FPS.
  41. Apr 22, 2011
    72
Conduit 2 is anything but a bad game, but its single player campaign is way too short and dull, with a clear lack of personality in terms of graphic style and level design. There are lots of funny multiplayer modes, however.
  42. Conduit 2 is a huge improvement over the original game. It's still not without its problems, such as its awkward controls and the B-movie production values but it's still well worth a look if you're a fan of first-person shooters.
  43. Apr 19, 2011
    79
Conduit 2's cheeky dialogue and creative weapons are amusing, and there are enough multiplayer options to keep you busy, although not likely for the whole of spring. Conduit 2 isn't top of its class, but it's a fun B-movie experience nonetheless.
  44. Apr 19, 2011
    75
It's not telling the most original story, the action doesn't feature much diversity, and you're not going to care about the characters. But if you want action, and you want a strong multiplayer title to fire up and explore, you've got a winner here.

If you're an FPS-loving Wii owner that doesn't care about single-player, or someone who adored the original Conduit, you may be able to squeeze some entertainment out of this game. Everyone else should pass.

A quite decent FPS and certainly an improvement over the original. It's quite unoriginal, though, and the opening level is very dull, but it gets better after that. [June 2011]

Bargain basement material from start to finish, but boasting admirable spirit. [July 2011, p.89]
  48. 70
One of the few FPS for Wii that has suitable controls and offers traditional entertainment. Big action hits on other platforms are still miles ahead though. [Issue#204]

You simply can't ignore the fact that the developer has been unable to match the scale of its ambition in the lacklustre final product. [Issue#109, p.112]
  50. May 8, 2011
    40
Whether there truly is a demand for the high-fidelity thrills found on other formats among shooter-starved Wii owners is largely academic, because Conduit 2 - like its predecessor - just isn't up to the task of providing them. [June 2011, p.92]
  51. Mar 29, 2011

Conduit 2 certainly has some issues, but it's heartening to see that High Voltage Software took people's criticisms of the first title into account when developing this follow-up. [Apr 2011, p.76]

The single player game is quite short. But the game itself is pretty enjoyable. What disappoints the most is the storyline. It is really boring and weird at times. If you have nothing else to do and you like just to shoot at things than this may just be you're game. Full Review »

I am severely disappointed by the single player length. I beat it in 3 hours. I am DEAD SERIOUS!!!
Yes, there are objects to scan to make it
longer, but that shouldn't be the only thing that makes it long.
Fortunately, it's multi player is damn good. Local or online, you can't go wrong with the multi player in this game. It's just too bad that I'm more of a single player guy. If you want a good multi player game on Wii, get this game. If you want a good single player game, keep looking.

Saga & High Voltage try again- why? Not sure who this game is for? Maybe little kids, or your Dad who has never played a shooter. Single player is so short- less than 4hr of uninspired game play. Multiple-player experience is so lacking from it's competitors on the "big boy" systems! Story and art direction seem thrown together from the leftover bag of 90's shooters. I feel bad for anyone who thought this was going to be anything other than a crappy rework of the first. The game looks ok considering its on the Wii, but looks cant hide the uninspired game design. Sega must be feeling the same with the lack of marketing around this game. Full Review »
