The addition of helpful tutorials, party-based mini-games and items, and a more casual-centered track listing makes it a perfect package for newcomers. If, however, you were looking for a true DDR experience, you won't find it just yet on Wii.
  2. Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party could stand to be a lot hotter, and a lot cheaper. For 70 dollars you get the disc and the dance mat, but you need to shell out at least 20 more dollars for a second mat if you want to go head-to-head with friends.
  3. This game is pretty much like all the other DDR games, but doesn’t offer quite as many features as past versions. The campaign mode is weak, and the overall strategy is lacking. However, the actual dancing is as fun as ever.
  4. Ultimately, Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party for the Wii has ended up erasing about four years of progress within the genre. The improvements have been replaced with unnecessary and annoying gimmicks galore, which only make it look that much worse when compared to the latest rhythm offerings, Guitar Hero III and Rock Band.

Even by simply adding a little waggle to the dancepad, DDR: Hottest Party could have been a great game. Unfortunately, thanks to the god-awful setlist and generally poor presentation, it makes us want to take our dancing shoes elsewhere.
  6. With its ability to attract new gamers, the Wii is a perfect home for Hottest Party, which may be the most mainstream-friendly series entry in years.
  7. 50
Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party is a mildly fun DDR game with Wii-mote functionality thrown into the mix. Unfortunately, it just feels so standard.

Getting the kids up out of their seats is getting harder as so much is going on online and in computer games- the Wii was the perfect solution. The music is fun because it's popular and the dance moves are pretty good (I dance a Lot!). Full Review »

I tried to find it online but just kept getting errors. Anyone know where it is? I find the menus a bit too pretentious at times but some of the loading screens give a glorious visual distraction from the colour explosions in game. The characters are lifeless and yelping which at first i found annoying but later grew to appreciate. (After all the designers were trying to give a gritty commentary on the current rich-poor divide in east china). The wii console is an impressive bit of kit but they really need to change the name if they really want to make a dent in the electronic game market. After all with Sony's Move and the Sega Dreamcast coming out soon how will they cope? The song choice is admirable at best with some songs relying too heavily on the verse-chorus-verse dynamic which has worked well in the past. I cant dance but I feel like I can. (Am I just dancing inside?) I think come christmas time this will be in peoples end of year lists and hopefully some stockings too.

Sorry for my bad spelign but this is my first time on MegaCritik
