DDR Hottest Party is the quintessential game in the series. . It gives you quite a workout, and the new features are truly new and make it worth a purchase. Don’t miss this one.
Dancing Stage Hottest Party has some nice handtricks, special arrows and amusing discohits. Too bad the game modes are a bit on the slim side. [May 2008]
Dance Dance Revolution has been luring gamers off their sofas for years, making the franchise a perfect hit for Wii fans. [Nov 2007, p.105]
As a Nintendo gamer I am glad that this Nintendo system has earned itself a ‘true’ Dance Dance Revolution game, even if I was a bit disappointed with the Wii specific controls which I disable every time I turn the game back on (I am not sure why the game was designed to not save that setting).
This game is pretty much like all the other DDR games, but doesn’t offer quite as many features as past versions. The campaign mode is weak, and the overall strategy is lacking. However, the actual dancing is as fun as ever.
Ultimately, Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party for the Wii has ended up erasing about four years of progress within the genre. The improvements have been replaced with unnecessary and annoying gimmicks galore, which only make it look that much worse when compared to the latest rhythm offerings, Guitar Hero III and Rock Band.
Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party is a mildly fun DDR game with Wii-mote functionality thrown into the mix. Unfortunately, it just feels so standard.
