85For a $10 download Dr. Mario Online Rx is still one heck of a package, complete with online, worldwide rankings, some simple communication options for quick-messaging pre-match, and even the ability to send an online-only demo of the game to your Wii console friends so they can play with you; yet another awesome addition to this package.
-
85There are plenty of reasons to hit the Wii Shop channel and plunk down the 1,000 points for Dr. Mario Online Rx. Virus Buster is an adequate addition to what is a classic Nintendo puzzler, and the overall presentation would be considered rock solid even if it came in a plastic case and required a gas-guzzling trip to GameStop
-
A great puzzler and the sort of title we'd like to see more of on WiiWare. [July 2008, p.83]
-
80For a title that has been away from our screens for far too long, Dr Mario is an excellent revival of a classic puzzle game and a decent WiiWare launch game.
-
80If you've been waiting for a WiiWare game to download, Dr. Mario's got the cure – and it won't set your wallet back to Medicaid levels either.
-
80The title offers up everything a puzzle fan could expect and want.
-
80For anyone looking for some nostalgia in their Wiiware this game definitely packs a powerful punch for the cost.
-
80Playing Dr. Mario Online RX for an hour or so virtually guarantees a smile and good mood to follow. Precious few full-price Wii games are that much fun, and a $10 game that delivers and that every single member of your family is likely to enjoy playing - is frankly a bargain.
-
70It's certainly a decent enough block-dropping puzzler, even if most people probably would've preferred Tetris. Or a Virtual Console release for the SNES Dr Mario and Tetris compilation. Either way, 1000 Points feels a bit steep.
-
70A solid puzzle game with some cleverly designed extras. [Aug 2008, p.117]
-
70It's got all the components you could ever ask for in a Dr. Mario game, and the inclusion of Wi-Fi and Wiimote modes gives players a few decent options when approaching it.
-
Dr. Mario looks great, sounds great and plays great, just like the original did 18 years ago, and the inclusion of online multiplayer adds value.
-
70Dr. Mario & Germ Buster is a solid game that's highly recommended for those who enjoy puzzle games.
-
This game will be fun for those who enjoy challenging puzzles, but overall it doesn't feel like a very generous remake. Online gameplay is the main reason to buy it again.
-
61The Virus Busters mode was a new twist and made good use of the Wiimote, the sticky or slow movement of the pills was frustrating at times, but still fun.
-
The online mode works great but adds nothing to the experience, and the demo-sharing feature is a wonderful idea crushed by Nintendo's online architecture.
-
The multiplayer modes are fun, but it'll never be as good as "Tetris." [Issue#24, p.27]
-
Don't be fooled by the pointer controls or other fripperies. [Aug 2008, p.75]
