  • Summary: [WiiWare] It's time to claim your rightful place as the champion of the Gravitronix arena, but get ready to deal with up to seven other players who are all shooting for the same title. Vanquish your opponents with four different projectiles and the powerful beams of your gravity platform. Intercept attacks and take careful aim at exposed vulnerabilities. Deflect incoming projectiles or capture and charge them with energy for devastating explosive attacks. Team up with a friend and battle through campaign mode, or recruit up to eight players on a single Wii system in versus mode for an all-out battle. Customize your matches with a variety of different options, such as flooding the arena with projectiles or making the game insanely fast. No matter how you like to play, grab your friends and have a blast. [Medaverse Studios] Expand

  1. When taken as a whole, Gravitronix is an unpretentious Pong-style action experience. From top to bottom, the game functions as it should, with a mix of single-player and multiplayer modes suitable for short spurts.
  2. Gravitronix is a novel game with a distinctive control scheme that matches the gameplay perfectly.
  3. 50
While I can see Gravitronix having a bit of appeal for younger kids as long as they play with a group of friends, most above a certain age group won’t have as easy a time getting the group together for an 8-player doubles faceoff. For everyone else, hold onto those Wii Points this week.
  4. A key flaw in the multiplayer mode is the default difficulty settings for computer-controlled opponents.
  5. Control issues aside, the gameplay itself is not all that much fun. If perhaps things were faster and more chaotic, as they are in Warlords, it would fare better, but as it is it's more tedious than fun.
  6. The idea has merit, but the actual end result is a boring, ugly mess that offers little.
  7. The long and short of it is that anybody looking for a fun multiplayer experience already has dozens of stronger examples to choose from, and anybody who isn't would be wise not to make an exception for Gravitronix. We cannot recommend this shabby excuse for a game to you in good conscience.
