  1. Jambo Safari is a game aimed at children and it does show, I played it and to be honest didn’t really find much to keep me entertained, however my little daughter seemed to have great fun driving the jeep around and looking at the animals and given the games target audience it seems that it’s done its job.
  2. For all its flaws, terrible graphics and Wii friendly gameplay mechanics, Jambo! Safari is still an extremely enjoyable experience.
  3. A bit sloppy, but a fun game for safari-obsessed youngsters and arcade enthusiasts. [Jan 2010, p.74]

Jambo Safari is a fun game, ideal for children aged 3 to 12. They can learn about African wildlife in a playful way. Family members and friends will be able to enjoy the minigames for a few hours, but replayability for them is rather low, making the graphically sub-par Jambo Safari more a treat for young kids or wildlife lovers.
  5. And viewed as what it's meant to be - a game for kids - Jambo! Safari isn't too bad. It's simple to understand and there's plenty of stuff to do. You get to drive a big car and throw ropes about and pat lions. There are no guns or scary bits. You might even learn something, although nothing you learn will be very interesting.
  6. Accompanied by four awful multiplayer minigames, the single player mode offers a good number of different missions, but the "hunting" sessions have lost much of their charm due to the low level of challenge and pretty inaccurate controls.

A forgettable safari experience due to its dull and unchallenging gameplay. Unless you’re looking at getting this for your child then there’s nothing that will hold your interest for long.
  8. The soul of the game ripped out. [Issue#91, p.120]
  9. So as Jambo Safari threatens to reinvent itself it becomes a jack of all trades, though master only of what it originally was: an arcade cabinet that this old codger loved back in the day but one that should have probably stayed there.
  10. 50
Overall, it's a bit lacking, but this is a nice original game that could feasibly keep the family entertained for part of a rainy day.
  11. Poor decisions in the wardrobe department, tedious animal treatment sections, useless "party games" and bad QA take a lot away from what could have been a pretty fun game to play with your kids.
  12. Not the fast action arcade game you might remember, but a low budget animal-fancying sim for girls.
  13. Jambo! Safari might have some merit as an educational tool(the animal facts you unlock are interesting), but as a game, not so much. [Jan 2010, p.89]
