  • Summary: Based on James Cameron's film, the game takes you deep into the heart of Pandora, an alien planet that is beyond imagination. Gamers encounter the Na'vi, Pandora's indigenous people and discover creatures and other wildlife the likes of which have never been seen in the world of video games before. When conflict erupts between the RDA Corporation, a space-faring consortium in search of valuable resources, and the Na'vi, players find themselves thrust into a fight for the heart of a planet and the fate of a civilization. 1. James Cameron's AVATAR is a surprisingly good video game for a game which derives from a film. Visit Pandora and be a part of the battle between Humans and the Na'vi.
  2. Overall Avatar is an entertaining game with an interesting proposal, although maybe it should have had a greater exploration component. You will enjoy it while it lasts.
  3. You have to give credit to Ubisoft for being original with the Wii game. They haven't ported the bigger version to moderate platform by force. The sneaking is fun and the game truly has it's moments. The script and the main character are stupid and the game is easy as a walk in the park. Where's the ambition? [Jan 2010]
  4. Avatar: The Game doesn't succeed on any level, not in its weak gameplay and shoddy presentation.

Pros: decent visuals, interesting talent tree system Cons: repetitive gameplay, levels, and enemies, finicky controls, limited ability to interact with world and make decisions about where to go, what moves to make, etc., dull storyline, terrible camera angles, and extremely crippled multiplayer due mainly to the bad camera. Talk about a huge disappointment! In case you're wondering what I mean, this game was originally meant to be good. The developers of this game said that this game was going to be one of the few movie games that wouldn't stink! This was in an issue of Nintendo Power. Then, the very next issue, the review came. This is what they thought of it, "Despite its claims to the contrary, Avatar the Game is exactly what we've come to expect from a movie game. In other words, it's completely mediocre". They gave this game a five out of ten. I however, disagree with them. I think it's far worse! I played this game over at a friend's house, and I thought it totally stunk! We played this game in multiplayer where player two has no choice but to follow the first player, which is very boring. This game is very redundant too. All you do is go through forest until you come across a human base. Then you have to sabotage it. There are also flying stages, but those are just as redundant. The camera angles are what really kill this game however. The angles will cause the death of you more time than not! It's especially bad in multiplayer. Fans of the movie had better stick to the movie because this game totally stinks!!! Expand
