Even with the deviations from what you might expect from the plucky pink puff, Epic Yarn most assuredly feels like a Kirby game; you have solid platforming, off-the-charts cuteness, and even throwbacks to familiar Dream Land characters and settings.

It goes beyond making you smile to that level of cuteness where your cheek muscles feel sore from the big smile which won't leave your face and you feel a rush of energy like you just had a shot of hard liquor. If you have any interest in platforming games at all, get Kirby's Epic Yarn.
  5. Kirby's Epic Yarn is definitely up there with Super Mario Galaxy 2 as a must-have Nintendo game this year. However, what separates Kirby from everyone's red-capped plumber is that there were some serious risks taken with Kirby, and the result is something totally awesome.

Kirby's Epic Yarn starts off slow and may even lead to fans of traditional Kirby adventures giving it the cold shoulder. However, the sheer amount of thought, creativity and extra little touches poured into the adventure help to make this one journey that grows on the player considerably the further into proceedings they get.

Epic Yarn is a title for the player looking to be reminded what it's like to have the emotion of curiosity triggered by a videogame. A game cut from the finest Nintendo cloth.

Kirby's Epic Yarn is one game that should be on any gamers wish list, as long as you own a Wii. With great visuals, solid sound, and gameplay that is geared for any level of gamer in the family (thank you), Nintendo has once again proven that they publish great games, it is as simple as that.
  9. Kirby's Epic Yarn is an absolute delight. Oozing cuteness at every turn, from the wonderful animation to the gorgeous music, this is a game that should have pride of place in any game collection.
  10. Kirby's Epic Yarn is a slightly deviatory franchise installment featuring a brilliant new fabric-oriented concept which takes this platforming game beyond the realm of the ordinary.

Not since Yoshi's Island's designers broke out the crayons has a Nintendo platformer looked so much like a work of craft, but it's a pity that, for the most part, the levels don't feel as fresh as they look - a platform made of butterfly stitching is still just a platform. The game that kept coming to mind as I played through Kirby's Epic Yarn was not any of the past Kirby entries, but rather Little Nemo The Dream Master, an NES game from 1990.

With gorgeus visuals and funny gameplay, Kirby's Epic Yarn is an amazing looking game that blinks his eye to such masterpieces as LittleBigPlanet and Super Paper Mario.

The perfect game for all audiences: easy enough for people that never play videogames, but with enough rewards and incentives for those who have lots of experience. This is the cutest game we've seen in years... and an excellent one, too.

Kirby's Epic Yarn is a well made platforming adventure that delivers exactly what we expected from all the trailers and previews. It's a fun experience for one or two players and is especially suitable for children. The Wii may lack a large amount of quality games, but as long as Nintendo keep providing solid platforming experiences like this one we'll keep the complaints to a minimum.

Kirby's Epic Yarn is a wonderful surprise. Brilliantly crafted to take the player on a fantastic voyage into a world of patchwork, you will easily fall in love with Kirby's attitude and yarn-inspired aesthetics.
  18. Honestly, the only crowd that I can imagine not enjoying Kirby is jaded gamers who are too cool for something so whimsical. Whatever the case, they're missing out on a colorful, unique game that reminds me of why I fell in love with gaming back on my NES: imagination, challenge, and fun.
  19. Kirby's Epic Yarn delivers fun, solid platforming with incredible style. The presentation and lack of difficulty may be a turn-off, but any platforming fan would do well to get wrapped up in this ball of yarn.

Sure, Kirby is extremely easy, and not really innovative, but it still is a quite refreshing experience. With high production values and an enchanting atmosphere, its a delicious journey through Dreamland's kingdom. If the youngest of gamers can dive in with closed eyes, platformers aficionados will have trouble looking the other way with its lack of challenge. If you are able to enjoy its naive world, you will discover a peace-inducing title, with a solid gameplay. Touching, warm, and reassuring like a sweater weaved by Grandma.

Kirby's Epic Yarn is an absolutely fantastic game that offers so much enjoyment thanks to the large number of unlockables, stunning graphics and incredible stages. Fans of Kirby and those who enjoy a good side-scrolling platformer should not hesitate to give this a try.

Perfectly sized for young children and the parties with all the family, Kirby's Epic Yarn is undeniably one of the titles that everyone can conclude without real effort, especially with two players, but still keeps some surprises in store for those who want to unlock everything.

It's surely a testament of how Nintendo can take a simple concept and turn it into a robust experience. It may lack the challenge other Nintendo games have, but offers some truly relaxing moments in a wonderfully designed world...if you can handle the cuteness.

Kirby's latest adventure is an unabashedly adorable and addictive affair, even when suffering from a limited reward system and lacking difficulty.

Kirby's Epic Yarn makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. You'll literally be amazed all the time and the game treats you with all sorts of funny jokes consisting out of fabric and yarn. The game might be to short and easy, but the all around quality and creativity make up for those in full. It's a platform game you'll fall hopelessly in love with.

Who knew a stroll into Arts and Crafts land could be this much fun? Kirby's latest adventure is a pure joy, and although it's a bit on the easy side, it'll keep you very entertained from start to finish without even flinching.

A cute and charming platformer that is much more forgiving than its Nintendo-comrade New Super Mario Bros. The unique setting provides plenty of surprises and new takes on classic platforming elements, especially in the first couple of hours, and the game is certainly fun. However, there's not a lot of challenge here, and not a lot of discovery or secrets to keep the longevity after you reach the finish line.

Don't let the game's kid-friendly approach fool you; Kirby's Epic Yarn will appeal to all ages. Beyond the striking visuals is a fantastic 2D platformer, making it one of the best titles available for the Wii.

Epic Yarn is an entertaining if undemanding jaunt, but it lacks the scope of Epic Mickey and the hardcore thrills of Donkey Kong Country Returns - both of which are out this month and far more worthy of your time and cash.

You do not need difficulty to have a good time. This game removes the idea of rushing and frustration and concentrates on the idea of classic platforming game, and innovative uses of buttons and yarns. It's a masterpiece when you think deeply about it. Full Review »

Kirby's Epic Yarn is a breath of fresh air in a time filled with generic FPS's that in some cases are unplayable(MW2), It's like smelling horse manure in an enclosed and small area that you are locked into but you find a crowbar to break the lock keeping you in. Kirby's Epic Yarn is the crowbar of justice against horse **** filled barns. It's also a very good and deep game for EVERYONE and it is not easy if you want to get a good bead streak, Anyone who says they are too mature for this are insecure idiots who cant grow up and see that this game is damn adorable and for all ages. I haven't had so much fun and excitement in a VERY long time for a videogame. Kirby Epic Yarn in your first five minutes may look like a simple platformer for the kids, but the minute Kirby suddenly transforms into a tank in the first or second stage, the experience changes forever. It features some really awesome platforming that gives me memories to Kirby 64 but also gives an even more unique and varied touch with it's graphical point of view and different transformations that all of them are effective and exciting. Kirby is definitely back in awesomeness on consoles, with this brand new game, and like the title suggests, it's epic! Full Review »
