  1. A magnificent celebration of all things Indy and a great primer for the new movie. [July 2008, p.66]
  2. Lego Indiana Jones’s success comes from keeping the fun gameplay of the Lego Star Wars games, but injecting the classic Indy moments, music, and characters
  3. It doesn't change the LEGO forumla but with great movie moments and loads of genuine-if-simple fun, it's still a good little game. [July 2008, p.74]
  4. The presentation is mostly excellent and the gameplay effectively blends puzzle solving with action. While there are no scenarios from the latest Indy film, these Adventures still provide a worthwhile Jones fix.
  5. For LEGO and Indy fans, this game is a revelation! The funny scenes, in which Traveller’s Tales make fun of themselves, are one of the best parts of LEGO Indiana Jones.
  6. 80
Traveller's Tales has once again delivered an experience that boils down to smashing stuff over and over again while searching for secrets, while also managing to make that formula fun and addictive.
  7. The third time is the charm for Traveller's Tales--logical puzzles and great offline co-op play make this the best Lego game yet.
  8. Lego Indiana Jones is so successful because it reimagines the films it’s based on without reproducing them.
  9. If you're looking for an entirely new gameplay experience from the folks at LucasArts, then you won't find it in LEGO Indiana Jones. However, this is the most polished and enjoyable entry in the LEGO series of games.
  10. As essential as buying the DVD box set of the first three films. Just a bit Lego-ier. [Aug 2008, p.54]
  11. Not as well made as "LEGO Star Wars," but this is brick-blasting entertainment. [Issue #24, p.68]

LEGO Indiana Jones may not be quite as engaging as LEGO Star Wars, but it’s still a lot of fun to play through. That’s doubly true with a friend. The quest isn’t particularly long, but there’s plenty of incentive for a second run-through (or a third …), and Indy fans will definitely have a blast re-living the original films -- LEGO-style.

As enjoyable as the game is, it's even more fun with a second player (although there's no online play, sadly).
  14. This simple gameplay is appropriate to the game’s primary target audience, children. But it is notable just how much fun adults can have with it.
  15. Ultimately, the main draw of LEGO Indiana Jones is playing through many of the movies' most memorable moments in the charming LEGO style, and the game definitely succeeds in doing that. [July 2008, p.87]
  16. 75
LEGO Indiana Jones sticks to an almost identical formula to the LEGO Star Wars games before it, but with its adventure-themed gameplay and incredibly entertaining cooperative features, the game is a solid purchase for anyone who wants to have some pure, uncomplicated fun.
  17. Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures doesn't quite live up to its Star Wars cousins, mainly due to the fact that Star Wars is simply a more memorable series, but it's still a brilliant adventure and great fun.

If you liked the Star Wars LEGO title then you’ll like this.
  19. The magic just isn’t here. Repeating the success of Star Wars with a radically different license requires more than Star Wars as a foundation. It really never finds Indiana Jones’ pulse, and ends up being somewhat of a mess, albeit a moderately fun one.
  20. The great moments were truly great. But the lackluster moments were very disappointing. So I'm going to say that the game might be more rental than purchase.
  21. While not a bad game, our overriding feeling while playing Lego Indiana Jones was that we really wanted to play through Lego Star Wars again. The game works, for all its glitches, and will undoubtedly provide a good few hours of co-op fun with a like-minded second player. Nevertheless, the painful fact is that Lego fatigue has set in far sooner than we had expected it to.
  22. Perhaps the worst thing you can say about Lego Indy is that it is not as instantly likeable as the Lego Star Wars games, and that it’s more of a relationship you’ll have to work at instead of being the love at first sight Travellers Tales' previous efforts were.

  1. I had this game for three years and played it from time to time, but it's no one of those games where I feel like I can come back to. One reason is because of the difficulty of some puzzles in the game and it sometimes gets irritating. But once you get through the game and start trotting through the levels, it can be a very fun game. Full Review »
  2. Similar to Lego Star Wars in a lot of ways, which is absolutely a good thing. I am also a big fan of Indiana Jones, so this game was absolutely perfect for me. Full Review »
  3. Unfortunately, this game boils down to being much less fun compared to LEGO Star Wars. Sure, it has the same formula and look, but it simply isn't handled as well. Although the game does have the Indiana Jones feel, it just doesn't work for a game like this that is mostly about puzzles. The game is hard to play without two players, and is lacking much needed split-screen. A lot of the game forces you to NOT be Indiana Jones, which isn't fun if you have to be someone stupid like Satipo or Willie. The game does a good job with some of the movies' best moments, but some like the Boulder Chase and the Mine cart scene, are poorly handled. The vehicle segments are handled terribly as well. Though there are worse Indiana Jones games out there, people might want to avoid this game unless they are a big fan of the movies. Full Review »
