The new Mario & Sonic game offers some new mini games. You will enjoy the game probably at your new years eve parties with your friends.

Won't convert the Anti-Mini-gamers, but for the busier household it's highly recommended. [Jan 2012, p.84]

Mario & Sonic fills the multiplayer gap, and does it with good-humoured minigames and a renewed focus on throwaway Olympic fun. As far as party games go, it's the gold standard.

Mario & Sonic: Third time is the charm. This olympic game is by far the best application published under the Mario & Sonic franchise. The mini games are well executed and the regular sports are topped off with fantastic dream sports. Although there's still not enough content for long lasting sporting mayhem, the presentation is far better than in the two previous installments. [Jan 2012]

This new Mario & Sonic olympic game isn't going to surprise anyone for its new features, but the game has improved and offers improved gameplay for everyone. Although we miss an Olympic mode like in the previous game, the new London For Everyone is a great addition and provides hours of fun.

In terms of sports, Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games in many ways delivers more of the same. Nonetheless, it offers fun and beautiful entertainment, especially for kids. The diverse use of the Wii MotionPlus controller makes for a great gaming experience.

Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is an interesting game that is reminiscent of those classic 80's Olympic games like Summer Games but with 21st century graphics and the innovative Wii gaming mechanics. Like all mini-game collections, some of the games work and others are just a little embarrassing.

On the whole, Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympics is a game that seems to both progress the series while keeping it firmly in the roots established by its 2007 predecessor. The motion controls fail to give a groundbreaking presence amongst its many party game brethren on the Wii, and many of the events featured here already made appearances in the other games.

It's also a fun game for adults to play in a party situation, and is likely to provide some level of entertainment to people of all ages - just keep in mind the high waggle factor and the convoluted controls; this will definitely lead to frustration for some.

But the actual sports? They're the same here as they were four years ago, and anyone who's already got a copy of the first Mario & Sonic Olympic game sitting on the shelf doesn't need to double-dip.

There're a few additions to the original formulae, but it's very much the same experience as the one that we discovered back in the Winter Olimpic Games and in Beijing 2008. Still, it's one of those games that is a blast to play with three or four people.
  12. Mario & Sonic At The London 2012 Olympic Games is a step sideways for the series. It'll no doubt sell bucketloads, but be warned that if you're getting it you'll need friends handy, since playing it on your own is a pretty underwhelming experience.

Rich collection of sport mini games is the best for short sessions thanks to its variability and agility. [Christmas 2011]

Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games includes a great variety of mini-games that are highly fun to play, as well some of your favourite characters from the Mario and Sonic universe. This game is the perfect title to pull out when you have a bunch of friends over at your place.

That said, Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is still the party game to play with friends and family this Christmas.

Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games proves that it's still worth having a party with these two gaming legends.

You'll have a fantastic time playing Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games with your friends. It can be to tiring though and it has no lasting appeal. This game will never get a gold medal. It'll have to settle for bronze, and never even gets to the finish line when you're playing solo.

That said, Mario & Sonic at the London Olympic Games is a winner overall--thanks in part to the continuing awesomeness of the Mario-and-Sonic combination. [Nov 2011, p.82]

It's very similar to the 2007 Beijing title, and the new features are kind of a mixed bag: it's still a good deal if you're looking for a casual olympic experience, but overall there are definitely better party games out there.

Mario & Sonic at the London Olympics 2012 is the game that we expected: pros and cons balance each other giving players an interesting arcade game for Christmans.

A competent mini-game collection, with some nice nostalgia for Mario & Sonic fans and plenty of waggle.

Third time's a charm, but also extremely predictable. We all know what to expect here because we have played it twice already.

Even though the olympic games of the mascots is both charming and easy to play, it's also way to shallow. Getting a gold medal has more to do with luck than skill and that doesn't work in the long run.
  24. Dec 2, 2011

Thanks to the strange combination of one diverting new mode with a slew of rehashed sporting events, Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games disappoints as much as it entertains.
  25. Dec 2, 2011
    60
Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is fun in short bursts, but lacks the well-made modes that are needed for families who only want to spend 30 minutes or so gaming to see who is the fastest, highest and strongest.

It comes as no surprise that Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is another colourful, fun and accessible package offering plenty of family-friendly kicks. While it hardly deserves a gold medal for design and presentation, Wii owners will get some festive thrills out of this one.

Mario & Sonic 2012 it's just a simple update of the previous year. Too easy and sometimes boring.

This is a game targeting the younger ones. Easy to play, those new olympic trials include football, cycling, badminton, beach volley, kayaking, and horse riding. Globally, they are well implemented, and there's the "dream challenges", which offer a new take on some classic sports through action, racing and platforming levels to boost the content. It's perfect for a birthday with chocolate cake, fun and accessible, but that's if you haven't reached puberty yet.
  29. Nov 21, 2011
    60
In short, Mario & Sonic's London outing is much like their Beijing sojourn of late 2007. It'll keep younger children in particular amused and entertained over Christmas, and it's a safe bet for festive family fun if you have enough controllers to go around.
