  • Summary: [WiiWare] In the game Max has a magic marker, that makes it possible for him to draw anything he wants – and it becomes real! Unfortunately the monster he drew also became real – so he's got to find and catch it before it causes too much trouble. [Press Play]

  1. A new splendid platform game arouses player creativity.
  2. Charming, clever and compelling all at once, this game does everything right.

Max and the Magic Marker is yet another considerable addition to the Wii's download library, and a great start for new developers Press Play.
  4. Max & the Magic Marker is a enjoyable and creative platforming game.
  5. This is a lovely game with an interesting gameplay feature – but why does it only offer three hours of fun?
  6. There's plenty to like about Max and the Magic Marker, such as challenging puzzles, novel ideas and great gameplay mechanics. But the emphasis on creativity won't appeal to everyone - especially those who remember when this was all just fields, pipes and clinky gold rings.
  7. I can only say that the majority of this game does not live up to all it can be, and seeing the creativity and challenge that some of the levels in the third world show off only highlights this fact.
