  • Summary: If you think you knew what it felt like to be the bounty hunter behind the visor, think again. Take aim at evil with Nintendo's revolutionary controller. Players control Samus by moving with the Nunchuk controller and aiming with the pointer, allowing for a level of immersion unlike anything they have ever experienced. Through the eyes of Samus, players experience a quantum leap in first-person control as they wield the Wii Remote, the ultimate device for the first-person shooter genre. Samus employs well-known power-ups like the Grapple Beam and Morph Ball, as well as a bunch of new surprises, to help her survive her coming trials. Saving the planets from Corruption isn't enough, though. Eventually, players must take down Samus' mortal enemy, Dark Samus. [Nintendo] Collapse

  1. The stunning visuals and immersive gameplay of the finale to the Prime series proves that the Wii is ready for the mainstream gamer. [Oct 2007, p.86]
  2. The original "Metroid Prime" is one of the highest-rated games in existence, but Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is easily superior. It’s far less frustrating, and more action packed, while managing to redefine console shooting controls in the process.
  3. An amazing game. It's almost perfect, and while a few things do pull it back from being that, it's still everything we've been waiting for from the Wii, wrapped in a nice fifty dollar package.

On the whole, Corruption takes advantage of the Wii's biggest strength (with its unique controls), and minimizes its greatest weakness (through astounding art direction), while otherwise maintaining or improving upon the high standards and overall polish the series is known for.
  5. The streamlined, pin-point accurate controls set a new precedent for first-person games on the Wii, and the game itself will keep you busy for more than a few weekends with its excellent achievement-like reward system and lengthy quest that easily took us 20 hours to collect every item, scan every object and obtain the best ending.

Recommended for acolytes and lay-persons alike.
  7. 60
The controls are heavenly but the game isn’t.

Wow, do I ever love this game! The art design is transcendent, transporting the player to beautiful,
wondrous worlds that feel truly alien and
unique.Combat is awesome---- strategic, precise, and deep.
Oh, those boss fights!! As you progress, scanning lore deepens a compelling story that unfolds in
unexpected and unforgettable ways. Finally and maybe most importantly, I really like the refreshingly
cerebral quality of this game; it constantly challenges you to think, analyze, and solve its myriad
puzzles and mysteries. One of my all-time favorites. Retro, you gotta make another one!

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is the best game in the Metroid Prime Series in terms of graphics, controls and music. And the story line is a very good way to end the Metroid Prime series. This is a must own, especially with Metroid fans. Expand

Great port from the GameCube controller to the Wii controller. Once again, they put a lot of work into the game from the stunning visuals to the gameplay. I also like the controller options which helps balance out the more beginning players to the more professional gamers. But unfortunately, I did find the game to be really rough work with the Wii Motion, especially the Nunchuk. Expand

Metroid Prime 3 is a great game to end of the Prime Trilogy. The graphics are slick and detailed, the planets are all unique and well designed, and the new control scheme is very intuitive. This is one of the few games that shows of the wii-mote's capabilities successfully, allowing for a point a shoot style of gameplay that works very well.

One very cool addition in the game was the inclusion of voice acting. It helps make the various characters you interact with more interesting while not intruding on the personality of Samus, as she still remains silent (cough cough OTHER M cough cough).

This really is a fantastic FPS and an excellent Metroid game. It's worth every penny.

Terrible controls ruin the end of an otherwise great trilogy. Lock-on targeting slips off for no reason, and bosses' weak points are tiny moving targets which can't be locked onto. Does the game look great? Sure. Is the story worth exploring? I don't know, I turned it off in disgust after yet another battle with the awful wiimote targeting. Expand
