You start the game withWhile the gameplay is good, in Metroid, your chances of getting lost are at 102%! Really! YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO! You start the game with ONLY 30HP and a laser gun that can barely go 3 meters beyond you! You are so weak in the beggining! Trust me!

Also, the continue system is just pathetic : each time you die, you restart at the beggining of the zone, guess what, WITH 30 HP left!
All the screens are way too similar (Special honor for Kraid chamber!) which optimize the chances of getting lost!

Finally, the game is too hard, even WORSE THAN CASTLEVANIA, CONTRA OR NINJA GAIDEN!
The level design is brutal, there is too much hard-to-hit enemies and they attack too hard (20HP!).
    B.R.U.T.A.L.
Well, at least the music is OK.
But don't buy that ''classic'', I didn't aged well, AT ALL!

I hate that acid lava, its IMPOSSIBLE to get out of it!

There's also a frustrating glitch, like when an enemy hit you into a door, DEFENSELESS!

Oh, BTW, There is NO MAP! IN A EXPLORATION GAME!

However, this is not a game for casual players. The difficulty will turn off casuals, but will more than satisfy hardcore gamers. The graphics look great (again, for its time) and Samus controls perfectly. Otherwise, a great game. Try and beat it without internet - it will be a lot more rewarding that way. Full Review »
