  1. Ultimately, Neopets can be interesting for those fans of the franchise who want to breed in a different way their pets, or for extremely casual or low age players who are seeking a light entertainment.
  2. Nintendo Gamer
Complex and hideous, but there's a lot to keep you occupied - if you're of the almost non-existent demographic that'll be interested in it. [Mar 2009, p.71]

Neopets Puzzle Adventure is certainly not going to re-invent the wheel when it comes to puzzle games, but I do have to give the developers credit for trying something new with the license. If you can get past the poor production values and the terrible frame rate there is enjoyable game to be found, granted you are a fan of the aforementioned virtual pets.
  4. Die-hard Neopets fans will fight through all of this just so they can get the codes for their Web site accounts. All others should either pick up Puzzle Quest or wait for the inevitable sequel instead of putting up with this somewhat-unpolished product.

But it really doesn't look good on Wii.
  6. There are some fundamentally good gameplay tidbits here, but ultimately, Neopets: Puzzle Adventure is an over-priced and unfinished product.
  7. While the integration of RPG elements and Reversi doesn't work too well, Neopets Puzzle Adventure’s basic game is fun enough to carry players through some, but not all, of its issues. Only Neopets diehards will be able to stand its crippling load times. Nobody else will have the patience.
  8. The Wii version of Neopets Puzzle Adventure is technically baffling, with broken framerates, aggravating hiccups, and other programming problems that really damage the experience. Neopets fanatics pining for a fix will do better to look to the superior (and cheaper) DS version rather than this rushed Wii project.
  9. Just an Othello variant. With creepy graphics.
  10. An awful frame rate and lackluster visuals make this version of Puzzle Adventure one to avoid.
  11. NeoPets Puzzle Adventure is a game that appears to be meant for younger audiences, but thanks to a difficult learning curve and challenging AI, it's going to test even the most dedicated players.
