  • Summary: [WiiWare; also known as "Icarian: Kindred Spirits"] Experience the awesome story of Nyx, an enigmatic winged girl who must descend from heaven in search of her missing friend, Icarus. Fly over the ruins of ancient Greece and avoid falling into blazing sands or perishing in the claws of cruel harpies and hydras. You will need the help of Zeus and other benevolent gods from Olympus to summon their powers. They will let you cast rays, modify the scenery and control winds as you wish. By making your own wrist movements and pointing to the game screen, you will be able to achieve these and many other feats. Fly, aim and shoot using your Wii Remote™ controller. Play with a friend and maximize your abilities: While one controls Nyx, the other will control the powers from the gods. [Nintendo] Expand

  1. A beautiful looking game which is also lots of fun to play. It’s true that it is not a massive game, you should be able to beat it 100% in just 3 hours, but those 3 hours will be completely filled with pure platforming bliss. This is exactly the sort of thing we want to see more of on WiiWare and comes highly recommended to all.
  2. A must have title for you to download, Nintendo and Mario should take note as this is one of the best platformers on the market.
  3. NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits is old-school at heart, but completely innovative and fresh when it comes to gameplay. It's an excellent adventure that defines the gold standard for WiiWare.
  4. I finished the game in just under four hours. After that, it was another four hours to collect all the Easter eggs and unlock the bonus level. Eight hours of cosmetically solid, wholly original gameplay is worth the ten bucks in my opinion.
  5. It’s lovely, and if there’s any criticism to be made, it’s that while NyxQuest effortlessly builds into something delightful, it never quite manages that little extra twist that distinguishes a truly memorable title. Even so, that’s still enough to make it stand out from its WiiWare peers.
  6. Beautifully stylized, beautifully implemented, and a true joy to play, NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits is another excellent title in Nintendo's already-impressive WiiWare library.
  7. There are many drawbacks to NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits, and they make this a tough game to recommend, especially with a 1000 Wii Point asking price. But players looking for a slow-paced platformer full of puzzles will definitely enjoy the experience.

This game was the reason why I switched ON my Wii after almost 8 months covered in dust, and it was worth. Beautiful music, beautiful graphics, very satisfying gameplay and a simple but captivating plot. This game should be taken as a reference for Nintendo's future Kid Icarus game. Expand

Awesome game, one of the best of WiiWare. Loved the music and the usage of the Wii Remote. Nice difficulty curve too, not too hard and challenging at all times. Expand

Brilliance doesn't always come in retail. NyxQuest demonstrates exactly what WiiWare is there to do - push forward fantastic innovative efforts like this. A must buy for all platform lovers. Expand

Great game, designed with the old school enchantment, for moments I was able to smell my NES console. Simple but addictive, you always need more. It's TOO short and in this game that's a sin. Atmosphere, music, controls, and colossal elements make this a memorable game. I think it is expensive, you pay a book and receive a comicbook. Expand

Beautiful graphics, music, controls, and gameplay make this my second favorite WiiWare game. Though some compare the game to Lost Winds, and it is very similar to that game, it is much, much better. Don't listen to people that say it is not that long. I have been playing for 6 hours and I'm still not finished. Great value for only $10. Buy it now! Expand

More annoying that anything. Difficulty is so-so, puzzles could have been MUCH better. Good OST, okay story, bad gameplay.
