  • Summary: [WiiWare] OVERTURN is a futuristic robot-versus-robot fighting game. Choose from eight different robots to pilot and master, using various close-range and long-range weapons to blast away enemies in six single-player tournaments. Unlock secret modes and up to 12 new weapons. Customize your robot's color and weapons to prepare for your next battle. Then take the action online to play in a two-player Versus battle or a four-player Battle Royale match. Search the world for Friends or other players who are online and ready for battle. Players with the optional Wii Balance Board can use it to control their robots by shifting their weight. [Nintendi] Expand

  1. Competitive Mech fans will be in heaven with this release. While the single-layer aspect of OverTurn is a little underwhelming and can be completed with relative ease, the impressive nature of the online multiplayer is practically worth the price of purchase alone.

These one-on-one robot battles just aren't very exciting. Environments are dull and empty and there isn't even an audience to cheer you on. It fares better online with four-player battle royales, but the gameplay is still very shallow.
  3. This one's a bit rusty. [Apr 2010, p.93]
  4. Fighting with giant robots is not always as fun as you would imagine.
  5. Uninspired. [Apr 2010, p.74]
  6. Virtual On on a budget, with a fully functioning online mode but very little depth or longevity.
