  1. Puzzle Quest is by no means perfect. In fact, one of its most noticeable flaws happens to be an extremely weird one (tiny text) and immensely frustrating, and the game may not be good for casual gamers due to its high difficulty level. Still, if you can get over both those flaws, you're in for one heckuva good time.
  2. Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords is a game that grabs you and doesn’t let go. It is one of the most addicting Wii games that I have ever played.

In short: if you've got a DS, get the DS version. If not, get this. [Feb 2008, p.55]

    Ridiculously addictive. [May 2008, p.82]
  5. Having played two other versions of Puzzle Quest already (PC and Xbox 360), it’s evident that the Wii version is the weakest of the bunch. The controls, while sometimes precise and intuitive, are a mess with too many menus for the Wiimote/Nunchuck scheme and accidental mistakes that players will run into with using just the Wiimote.
  6. It's not the best version of Puzzle Quest to date, but it still offers much of the same great fun.

Unfortunately, the translation to Wii brings nothing good. The quest and spell text are difficult to read on a standard definition TV, and it lacks widescreen support. Worse, the actual puzzle grid is much smaller than it could be, which only exacerbates the touchy Wii Remote pointer controls.

The Good: a good tutorial, longer story, and sound clips with the same game play. The Bad: the controls aren't as good, the character graphics and text boxes don't use the full screen area. Conclusion: It just isn't as satisfying to play on the Wii, I'll trade this in and stick to the DS version. Full Review »

Oh dear! It was compelling for the first 20 or so combats, but after that is extremely repetitive. The plot helps to keep you moving through but with reluctance, all the while hoping it will improve and become interesting. Full Review »

The fonts size used is pretty small. If you do not have a good TV and component cable, prepare to squint your eyes. Overall its a very nice and addictive game. Felt that they could have spent more effort porting it to Wii. Full Review »
