It's downright gorgeous and a total blast to play alone or with friends. A truly realized vision at the top of its genre, Rayman Origins is an extravaganza with plenty of action to keep it fresh from start to finish and beyond.

Rayman Origin proves that multiplatform games don't have to be a load of bull on the Wii. The game may even be better on Wii, because the offline co-op mode better fits the console. The Wii Remote may come with its own problems but they are easily resolved by adding a Nunchuck or Classis Controller. Good job, Ubisoft!

Rayman Origins is a rare beast, both as a side-scroller and a clever game with a ton of heart. This is a game with a sense of humor and a sense of joy. Fans of the genre would be fools to miss it, as would anyone who appreciates artistic and eccentric game design, or who wants a non-traditional but extremely solid multiplayer title.

Still, this is a solid title that must be experienced. If you don't mind a few disembodied handfuls of rage-inducing difficulty or the constant, sanity-warping slapstick, you'll have a blast, especially if you invite some friends to slap around.

A certain Italian plumber should watch his back - Rayman Origins is as good as New Super Mario Bros. Wii and not far off from approaching the quality of some of his finest 2D adventures.

Rayman Origins perfectly embodies what made many of us fall in love with gaming in the first place. It's a nigh-on flawlessly executed romp through intricately designed levels that boast the most gorgeously detailed and vibrant visuals you'll see this generation. Tight controls, a perfectly judged difficulty curve, fantastically surreal boss fights and tons of replayability go that extra mile.
  8. Rayman games may usually prompt little more than a shrug of indifference, but don't dismiss Origins. It's a top quality platformer from start to finish, a dazzling showcase for Ubisoft Montpellier's artistic talents, and one of the best Wii games of this (or any other) year.

If videogames were in a museum, Rayman Origins would be probably one of the stars of the platforming room. This game is an incredible piece of art, recommended for every gamer with no exception.

Insert ear plugs and dust off those reflexes: 2D platforming is back. [Christmas 2011, p.62]

It all adds up to be the best Rayman game ever made, and that's coming from someone who adores Rayman 2. [Nov 2011, p.80]

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. Just finished this game (still missing some medals and lums) after countless hours of play.

This is old-school challenging platforming at its most beautiful and enjoyable. The tricky treasure levels will have you losing sleep, but the real treasure level is unlocked when you complete all 10 tricky treasure chases. Think of it as the biggest trick treasure level, times TEN. This is no Super Mario Galaxy... this game is made for diehard platformer fans.

I have not had this much fun on the Wii since Bit.Trip Runner was released. Sound, Music and Graphics are all superb, if a bit repetitive at times. Gameplay is super smooth, and the only glitch I ever encountered was background pop-in in the first second or two of a tricky treasure level. I haven't had the chance to play the co-op, but I hear it is even more enjoyable than the single player campaign.

This is a must have game for your Wii, as it is for 360 and PS3 as well. A perfect 10 - A shining example of what 2D can be on a modern system (or even a Wii - wink).

This whole game is absolutely ridiculous in every way. Yet, that's why it's so good. The inane gibberish of the characters, the crazy level design and at times hilarious music makes this a game a laugh to play every time. As well as this though, it's a proper 2d platformer with a punishing difficulty late on though the physics may be too floaty for some. The game is fairly long and the levels are very replayable. After years of being bossed about by a bunch of bunnies, I wasn't expecting Rayman to star in a platformer that manages to be a serious contender to some of Mario's best. Full Review »
