Even though the game feels dated (and looks it too), Rygar: The Battle of Argus is extremely fun. Being a virgin to the series the ease of play and amount of enjoyment truly surprised me. This is the type of game that anyone can pick up and play and have a good time.
  2. Worth at least a rental. [Holiday 2008, p.77]
  3. Rygar feels every bit as old as you'd expect from a six-year-old game, but it still has some really fun moments.
  4. Hardly epic and in no way legendary, but this contains mild thrills - if you can come to terms with how outdated it all is. [Aug 2009, p.71]
  5. With its baffling design choices and shoddy controls, Rygar: The Battle of Argus fails to deliver as much fun and satisfaction as the original game.
  6. Enemies almost always react faster than your character, he turns as if he’s in a particularly unwieldy chariot. Jumping is a chore, thanks to the awkward mapping of the function to the nunchuk’s Z button.
  7. 20
Nothing short of a total disaster.
