  • Summary: [WiiWare] Battle for the future in a world governed by the law of the jungle. As you move through the stages, your character evolves and your weapons and shooting abilities change. First, throw weapons by hand, then proceed to use tools and different types of projectiles. A cooperative two-player mode is also available. The controls are simple: Move the character with the control stick, adjust the crosshairs with the Wii Remote controller and shoot down targets while dodging enemy attacks. Getting hit by an enemy bullet or touching an enemy close to you will count as a miss. With each miss, you'll lose one heart; losing all hearts will end the game. [Nintendo] Collapse

  1. Those good points aside, the sluggish controls and bad graphics prevent Shootanto from competing with the big retail releases. As a result, it should be considered only as a cheap and convenient supplement to a player’s collection, and not as a replacement for a good retail version of a game in this genre.
  2. 60
Shootanto: Evolutionary Mayhem has a wonderfully insane concept and theme, wrapped around some really mindless shoot-it-all gameplay -- so while it won't win you over on the merits of how it plays, it might just be crazy enough in story and presentation to earn your investment of 500 Wii Points.
  3. Avoid like the plague. [Jan 2010, p.86]
  4. A shooting game in WiiWare might be tempting for the ones who like this genre, or for the ones who want to try this sort of game for a low price, but its execution lacks everywhere.
