  1. Summer Sports: Paradise Island is exactly what it sounds like, a mini-game collection full of exciting sports you mostly play when the sun is out and everybody is complaining about the heat.
  2. A passable Wii sporting title that brings a few backyard favorites to your living room. Unfortunately, the imprecise controls don't let the game achieve its full potential. Consequently, the title is nothing more than a bit more fodder for Sony and Microsoft fanboys to point their fingers and laugh at.
  3. If you loved "Wii Sports" (and I mean REALLY loved it,) don't mind terrible motion controls, and have two or three friends willing to play a few sub-par mini-games, then Summer Sports: Paradise Island may be worth a rental. For most Wii owners, though, it stands as just another in a string of third-party disappointment.

It's a shame the developers spent more time on the presentation of their game than on the actual gameplay. Out of the seven mini-games on offer here, we can only recommend two. And those are half-hearted recommendations.
  5. Fun can be had with many of the games in Summer Sports Paradise Island, especially when playing head-to-head, but the control issues will keep you from that "just one more game" feeling present in titles like Wii Sports.
  6. Even worse, the game has an annoying glitch where missed shots in HORSE count as makes. We love the effort Destineer put into the Paradise Island environment, but that glitch is unacceptable.
  7. Summer Sports is boring at best and aggravating at worst. [May 2008, p.89]

Many times during the putt-putt golf there are many problem areas in that downgrade this attempt at adult enjoyment. 1.Many screen freezes occur on various holes. 2. Many times your ball is replaced in a different spot than you saw when it stopped in the previous putt. 3.Not nearly as good as the Wii Sports that came free with the original Wii game. Full Review »

A lot of fun! But why does it force you to play with 4 players? It forces you to wait thru 3 CPU players with no fast forward. Def. a party game. But still so addictive. Volleyball , Lawn Darts, and Basketball, is soooo much fun. Could use a Practice Mode. Give this game at least a Rent! Full Review »
