  1. It’s for kids, so it’s not difficult to unlock most of the stuff in a few hours of play, but this isn’t one of those games that’s aimed at me, at the older, core gamer.
  2. Surfs up will almost certainly be a hit with the younger gamer, especially if they enjoyed the movie. For the more seasoned gamer, Surf’s Up might not heed enough of a challenge considering the main game can easily be beaten in a couple of hours.
  3. Game Informer
This is the first licensed game I've played that is actually shorter than its movie. [Aug 2007, p.93]
  4. Games Master UK
Average, simple and very non-Wii - this takes the extreme out of extreme sports. [Oct 2007, p.72]
  5. Hanging 10 in this movie-licensed surfing game has its moments--just don't expect to enjoy it for very long.
  6. When it comes to a quick rental, Surf's Up qualifies.
  7. Nintendo Gamer
Predictable but okay. [Sept 2007, p.50]
  8. Nintendo Power
The most disappointing aspect, however, is the lack of Wii-remote usage--instead of carving up the tide with remote gyrations, you can boost occasionally by shaking the controller. [July 2007, p.96]
  9. Official Nintendo Magazine UK
The best adaptation of an animated movie we've seen in a long time. [Sept 2007, p.77]
