While it may be confusing for today's standards of a Zelda game due to you not knowing where to go without a walk-through. it can still be fun and challenging; in fact trust me while I say that this game is HARD, it may not be as hard as Zelda II: AoL but there are a lot of enemies that will probably downright frustrate you. Despite it's difficulty, this game is actually still very fun today so if you have $5 you don't need, get it now on the Virtual Console. Expand

The graphics are good for the NES, and the character sprites were amazing. The dungeons are good. The controls are perfect. The music and sounds are the best IMO. If you hate Zelda, you're silly as JB. The Legend of Zelda for the NES is a GREAT Classic and you should get it soon. Expand

It may have been amazing back in 1986, but now, it's mediocre compared to the later and better games in the franchise. Since it was in development along with Super Mario Bros., the story is very similar to that game. Also, this game is pretty darn hard. Some sections are just BRUTAL. Due to Link's control, you'll accidentally do something you didn't intend on doing. However, this game can be fun at times. But overall, it's aged badly. Expand
