  • Summary: The Sims 2 Pets for the Wii uses the accessible Wii controls to create pets for your Sims to train, play with, and love as their own. Not only do players have the opportunity to choose from a variety of existing breeds, and the latest designer mixes, but they can also personally design their new furry friends with the Create-a-Pet feature. The ability to customize gives players the opportunity to create their ideal pet by choosing their body shape, unique markings, even their pets' personalities. With so many different animals to choose from, there's no telling what unpredictable experiences could occur. The addition of a new friend for The Sims 2 Pets for the Wii is sure to enrich the daily lives of your Sims. Players can also to teach their pets new tricks, take them for a romp in the park, outfit them with new pet accessories and even give them jobs. As in real life, your Sims' pets require care and training. A neglected cat with an urge to scratch might claw up your new couch if you aren't careful, and leaving your dog unattended near a freshly planted flower bed probably isn't wise. 1. But as Wii-makes go, Pets is as solid as the best of them, and in some ways perhaps better, by virtue of presenting loads of open-ended content with a powerful gaming interface.
  2. As a port, The Sims 2: Pets isn’t anything out of the ordinary. But for a new audience, there has never been a better time to try EA’s mammoth sim series. It’s just as deep and addictive as before – and now comes with a superior control style that only Wii can deliver.
  3. 72
The actual “pets” portion of the game is really more of an add-on to the basic Sims structure, but couple that with the other elements of the franchise and you’ve got a game that’s deep, free-form, and about as “go at your own pace” as possible. Just know there’s a stronger, Wii-specific Sims product on the way in the next few months.

But you know what? Big deal. We already know the Wii can do this. This console has been out long enough to warrant something that takes better advantage of its strengths. Frankly, these “Wii-makes” are really starting to wear thin.
