What we didn't expect is a game asking for $50 and giving you nothing new.
  2. The Sims 2: Pets may not be a new title for us to devote our Sims loving selves to, but it is at least a nice addition to hold us over until the Wii exclusive MySims comes out.
  3. I liked the game and did become semi-addicted to it. However the game does loose it pizzazz the further you get into it.
  4. The Sims 2: Pets offers good AI and challenging pet gameplay, but the Wii control scheme isn't ideal.
  5. If you haven’t spoken Similish in a few years, or are head over heels enamored with motion controls, this Sims 2 Pets could be a right neighborly slice of homemade pie. But for anyone else with a Wii and $50 bucks, we suggest you hold out for the upcoming "MySims."
  6. The Sims 2: Pets for Wii is nothing more than slapdash and second-rate. There’s enough left for it to be enjoyable, but with a lack of content and an overabundance of bugs, players are better off getting the PC version or waiting to see if MySims can pick up the slack.
  7. As a port, The Sims 2: Pets isn’t anything out of the ordinary. But for a new audience, there has never been a better time to try EA’s mammoth sim series. It’s just as deep and addictive as before – and now comes with a superior control style that only Wii can deliver.

The actual “pets” portion of the game is really more of an add-on to the basic Sims structure, but couple that with the other elements of the franchise and you’ve got a game that’s deep, free-form, and about as “go at your own pace” as possible. Just know there’s a stronger, Wii-specific Sims product on the way in the next few months.

It's exactly the same as the GC game. [Sept 2007, p.41]
  10. Official Nintendo Magazine UK
You'll find the Wii Remote almost perfectly suited to lifting the toilet seat. [Sept 2007, p.86]
