The addition of the online play really is a huge deal.
  2. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 is a solid improvement over its predecessor and the best golf game on the Wii so far.
  3. If you're a golf fan, you've got to buy Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 All Play. It's the definitive game of golf this year, and the yearly iterations to come will surely improve upon an already-great game.
  4. Even with the dreary visuals Tiger Woods 09 is certainly the best golf game on the Wii so far.
  5. The game is not only another success story for EA on the Wii this year but for the first time, a Wii version should be seriously considered when looking for the best golfing experience despite the fact that it’s the less pretty of all the console versions out there.
  6. Considering that Tiger Woods ’09 is being hailed as the greatest golf game ever released for the 360 and PS3, it is truly depressing that the Wii port is such a mess.
  7. If you were waiting for a golf video game that completely changes the notion of what a golf video game can be, well, you're still waiting. If you want a well controlled game of golf that's both accessible to newcomers and challenging to veterans with tight, well implemented controls and more content then you can shake a 5-iron at then Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 09 All-Play fits the bill.
  8. Realistic golf-swing controls and a host of exclusive party games make Tiger Woods 09 on the Wii a great golfing experience.
  9. Despite continuing gripes about the not-so-perfect controls, ordinary visuals, and screaming fans that you only hear and never see, Tiger Woods 09 shapes up as the best golf title yet for the Wii. There’s plenty to do and just about anyone can grab a club and jump right in.
  10. Aside from a few issues with the motion control, this is the best golf game on the Wii right now.
  11. Some people will hate the putting, but the rest of the game more than makes up for the questionable way the developers implemented the putting stroke.

It looks better. It plays a great deal better thanks to improved swing mechanics that capture that one-to-one sensation. And it's packed full of more content than ever before, including new Wii-exclusive mini-games and a truly fabulous online component.
  13. Whether you’re clubbing together playing online, feeling true-to-life golf motions or getting lost in the inviting single and multiplayer modes, Tiger Woods ’09 on Wii is the golf game to experience. One of the best golfing experiences you can ever have.
  14. An utterly comprehensive yet soulless golf sim. Perhaps it's time the game was reworked instead of just adding another five courses and an idiot mode. [Dec 2008, p.55]
  15. The one-to-one swing mechanics are phenomenal and offer lots of customization options to cater to players of all skill levels. [Oct 2008, p.88]
  16. It's not perfect but it's greatly improved, and with tons of game modes and tournaments in here, you'll get a solid round of golf out of this. Finally. [Nov 2008, p.102]
  17. If you're looking for a good golf game for the Wii, then Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 All Play is the one to get.
  18. Definitely the best version of Tiger Woods you're going to get your hands on this year, and it offers a lot of promise for versions to come, especially with the Motion Plus accessory being available just around the corner.

This game is fun - everything you would expect from a Wii golf game with an exceptional online play but one huge flaw that really just needs to be explained better: The putting mechanic. It is very frustrating when you first llay the game VERY frustrating. Let me explain how to make i better:
Here is the trick to putting in standard mode (I picked it up in the review section on Amazon).

    1) you have to make all major adjustments BEFORE you preview. You tweak your aim how hard you are going to hit it after the viewing and degesting the oreview information.

    2) IF you are putting on a flat or uphill green ALWAY bump up the power (hit the UP arrow quickly ONCE). You

What a frustrating game, the tutorial tries to show you how to make a hook or draw shot but it's as confusing as hell especially when it tells you 286 yds and you hit it 300, it keeps saying try again, then there's the putting, oh my god what a mess, at least with Wii Sports Golf you can practice and it gives you an idea as to how hard you will hit it but this game doesn't allow that and to hit the ball 5 ft you have to take a full swing, now most people that actually play the real game knows you don't need to do that even if it's all uphill, but with this game if you are more than 1 foot away you will have to take a full swing and hope it gets close to the hole.
EA, fix this please even if you have to ask whomever did Wii Sports Golf on how they did it.
I also prefer the WSG version of driving because if you swing too hard in that game your shot is not going to be good, with Tigers game you can swing as hard as you want and it will go the same distance as if you just swing casually.

Great game, played for an hour on the firts night I got it and though he game and in particular putting was crap nearly took it back. After spending a few hours on the game , i think it is great far from perfect but heaps of fun. Yes the putting is not like 1:1 100% real putting but once you work out how to use it you will have a heap of fun Full Review »
