  • Summary: Wacky Races: Crash & Dash is an action racing game with fun-filled environments, crazy cars and hilarious characters. The game features all the characters and cars from the TV series including old favorites: Turbo Terrific driven by Peter Perfect, the Ant Hill Mob in their Bullet Proof Bomb, Penelope Pitstop, and the Mean Machine driven by Dick Dastardly and his sidekick, Muttley. Players join Dick Dastardly and the gang, racing across a variety of action-packed and colorful cross-country rallies from the TV series. Racers watch out for traps and speed ahead to win the ultimate title of World’s Wackiest Racer. Wacky Widgets are collected during the race to gain “Wacky Powers,” as well as a character’s super-special “Way Out Wacky” power, which can be used to gain the upper hand over sly opponents. 1. It's fun enough, but older gamers won't like the simplicity, while younger gamers may not know the franchise. [Issue#25, p.73]
  2. Fun for young gamers but no real substance as a "real" racing game. [Aug 2008, p.83]

If you're a diehard fan of the animated series, developer Eidos Sweden has managed to capture some of its charm with this simple, shallow racer. But whatever is gained in presentational cartoon clips and voiceover is surely lost as the same-looking, same-playing levels begin bleeding together in a repetitious manner.
  4. This wacky racer sucks about as much as the cartoons. There's no good reason to play this game. It's about as interactive as its cartoon brother. Better spend your cash elsewhere.

Once Again, another pile of s**t arrives on the wii for the umpteenth time. I saw that someone had previously voted this 10/10, so they clearly must be some poor, depraved soul with only this game for entertainment, because it is TRULY terrible. the controls are terrible, and the screen often clings to the group of opponents rather than your character, and so you are left off screen. Occasionally, you will be pit against random mini-games, and there are a grand total of 5. Which, coincidently, do not tell you WHAT to do, leaving you to guess. I presume this would get quite infuriating for a 7 year old (The game's target market, i would guess). I watched mny 11 year old sister attempt this, and she failed miserably, and was left saying "I don't know what to do on this bit!!" (referring to the minigames) proof, if it was needed, that the mingames are poorly designed and instructed.
Dont go thinking that this game is designed for wii however - im pretty confident that the ps1 could have pulled off the same visuals used in this game, and the controls would have been a damn sight better too.
The game even throws its small saving grace away - as fans of Wacky Races would look forward to playing as Dick Dastardly and Mutley. BUT no, they are not available to play as from the begginning, you have to complete the game to unlock them. Only then, can you replay through the terrible game with them.
Eidos have succeeeded in producing a rubbish game and ruining an almost ancient franchise. Games such as this on the wii ( They appear on every console, but appear on the wii x3 more often) should be put in some sort of "Non Gamer" section, as NO gamer could possibly enjoy anything as crap as this.
