Not a fan, I love the music, art-style, initial gameplay, but the game is just bland. Something about it. I really can't believe it is scored as highly by everyone for such a game at the $15 pricetag. Play a demo online first would be my suggestion, because these high scores completly overrate this game.

I would say this game is really overrated. People are right about the style and sound but the presentation is also a little annoying. Its kind of slow paced when something opens up, but the mostly its the gameplay itself that is boring. Basically all that's involved is pointing the Wii remote at the screen and waving it around a bit. Sure if you do it right, you'll be moving Goo aroundI would say this game is really overrated. Meh it is a good game but very overrated like other indie games. The puzzles are fun but it's not exactly amazing like reviewers say. It needs more of something...

I am just quite dumbfounded about the scores here. I am a huge fan of the puzzle genre and couldn't wait to play through this after coming here and reading up on it. What I found instead was a mildly interesting concept with an utterly disappointing presentation (I am a huge fan of in-game music and was thoroughly disappointed with the rave for this particular category). I was just not pulled in at all! I did not care for the Goos, I don't understand why something that tries to pass as a story is being told via in-game board signs, and I especially am not fond of using the Wii remote in a game like this (and can see how, for the first time I can personally think of, I would enjoy playing using a mouse instead). I can't explain it using words, but it just feels goofy using the Wiimote to tilt your arm and wrist to 'build" and move goo around. I am my no means asking you to skip this game but am merely suggesting that there is a niche of people that it will not resonate with. For my money and time, I'm sticking to Plants vs Zombies. Expand

Very cool game, however, it reminded me of a lot of free online games you can find. Simple rules, easy and intuitive controls. I beat it in 2 weeks though. I won't say it's a bad game, however I was a bit disappointed that I dropped some cash for it. I guess I expected a bit more. It's packed full of brilliant, challenging levels. It's gorgeous. It's got beautiful music. And it controls really well. So if you value any or all of these qualities, and hopefully you do, you should be delighted to know that Nintendo's downloadable service is about to rock your world, goo style.
  2. Not only is World of Goo easily the best WiiWare release to date, it's also proof that you don't need a large development team or millions of dollars to create an outstanding video game. In an era of video gaming where style is often emphasized over substance, it's refreshing to see a title like World of Goo that somehow manages to feature an abundance of both.

It's the atmosphere that transforms World of Goo from a great concept to a fantastic game, with production values well above what you'd expect from a tiny indie developer. The crisp, hand-drawn visuals burst with care and creativity, recalling the wonderfully distinct approach of another recent downloadable favorite, Castle Crashers. And the music -- who would've expected such intense anthems from a physics-based puzzler?
