One of my favorite games of all time. You feel like you are really batman. The controls in this game are superb. Better than any batman movie ive ever seen.

As good as the first game. I could even say it is better at times, but the only reason I don't rate it higher than the first game is because it handle more or less the same and adds very little new to the gameplay. Think about it, aside from the Catwoman sections, Batman more or less can do everything he did in the first game with a few small additions. There are more villains in this game, but also they feel not as well flushed out as they were in the first game. I feel it improved from the first game but it also featured a lot more problems. The world is bigger and because of it there is lag and a very noticeable drop in frame-rates when you get to certain areas. I liked how great the environments look and how every character has dropped their bodybuilder look for something more original. There are a ton more challenge maps ,which is good and annoying, that are a lot tougher to complete. A ton more riddler challenges as well (which I love doing) that are a lot harder then the first game.

There are a ton of new bosses in the game. Although i hated how the boss fights were over almost as soon as they started (literally one punch for some of them), It took away from what made the first game so good (a few bosses but all with their original boss fights).

Its bigger but not better. The game features a rather noticeable drop in frame rate in some areas, Boss fights are short and make poor uses of good characters, The campaign (including main and side missions) are rather short as well. It doesnt have the same addictive feel that the previous game had either. Its a good game but not as great as the previous one.

Arkham City is a fun and a worth while single player game but is not the masterpiece many claim. I enjoyed the open world of Arkham city and found gliding and fighting around at my own leisure fun for a time. The environmental graphics are good, batman also looks good with a great animating cape. The story has a few moments but did not surprise me at all and ends up being completely unbelievable even for a cartoon which is unacceptable for a claimed 'masterpiece'. The combat is good and feels unique (much improved from Arkham Asylum being more fluid and giving the player more options in combat). Most of the Batman franchise is over used in the game with too many villains that are just there for the sake of it without much use or need. unfortunately as its a franchise Batman will never really learn any real lessons about crime or criminals and there never will be an end to Batman's troubles, batman is never going to die which destroys any suspense of danger, he will never totally defeat his enemies either, Joker will always come back again and again and again which does water down the any story's significance. Arkham City is the essential Batman game, incorporating perfectly the characters, themes and style of the comics and films. It expands on its predecessor in every way. The story is more exciting and fast paced, with plenty of characters but never feeling overstuffed. Voice acting and great writing bring these characters to life and give them their own unique spin. The combat is similar but improved and more varied. Its greatest achievement is making you feel like you really are Batman. The stealth is excellent and the gadgets lead to creative ways of remaining hidden. The game has an insane amount of replay value thanks to the challenge maps and Riddler trophies. Definitely one of the best games of 2011.… Expand

Batman Arkham City was amazing game by far the best superhero game of all time, even better than Batman Arkham Asylum which was amazing. The story line was fantastic. Many bad guys in it. Rider challenges are fun as hell and a supprise at the end. Campain 9/10 Rider challenges 9/10 Batman Arkham City 9.8/10

One of the best superhero video game of all time is back, and this time it offers a more vastly bigger environment. Great action, superb controls (with a little bit of a learning curve) and superb production values are staples. What makes it the best super hero game series is its ability to make the player 'become' the Dark Knight himself. Highly recommended.

What i said to myself in this game is. it cant get any better than this. the game is amazing filled with great gameplay, easy combat and a fantastic storyline.. it rest on you. batman to save gotham and its people from the horrid discusting arkham city.. for me this game is better then the last and seeing i cant rate it any better i also give this game a 10/10

My two minor complaints are the fights were a little too hard at some times and the ending was rushed Too many main characters died!=(. The sanbox is fun, but the controls, combat moves, and tactics were just the same. The boss encounters were interesting however. Overall, excellent game that's just as good as Arkham Asylum. Batman Arkham City is no doubt the best superhero game of all time, and one of the best video games of 2011. Every fight is an intense battle that you will never want to end. The game features everything you would want to do if you were Batman. With a storyline full of twists and turns, action unparallelled in the world of video games, and epic boss fights. Easily one of the best games of 2011, the voice acting and characters alone set this apart from most of everything else from 2011. I personally felt that Arkham Asylum got a bit too repetitive and this one was no better. However the story and everything that revolved around that really makes this a great game, if for nothing else than to hear Mark Hamill perform his final performance of the Joker. The ending is great and I feel that everyone should play this if just to see how things turn out for our favorite bat. A couple of issues I saw were that Catwoman's story, a major part of the game, is not available from the start. You need to download it and good luck if you buy this used. Playing her story will cost you 10 more bucks, which means you should just buy it new until the price goes down if you want to experience the full story. Another thing I didn't like was the fact that pretty much 90% of the available side missions in the game were just to collect Riddler trophies. I expected something more when they said there would be hours of side missions to do. I did not want to waste around 8-9 hours of my life on a glorified fetch quest. Other than those things, this is a must play. Whether you want to experience the catwoman part of the story is completely up to you as it's not totally necessary to enjoy this game but you will miss out on alot if you don't play it.… Expand

Arkham City is a bigger and better game than its already excellent predecessor.The game is absolutely filled with things to do and the new open world nature of AC is a blessing.There are almost too many upgrades,gadgets and secrets in the game and trying to remember combos is a challenging,but welcome,exercise in hand-eye coordination at times.Adding to a decent length campaign are hundreds of Riddler challenges,numerous side missions,balloon popping,dive bombing,challenge maps and a short,fun stint as Catwoman.Amazing...… Expand

Rocksteady's second rendition of the Dark Knight is just about as brilliant as anybody has any right to expect. Everything has been expanded and improved upon from the extremely fast and frenetic combat to the tactically satisfying combat. The wow moments are also significant and the cast of characters is extensive and varied. It doesn't completely eclipse the Arkham Asylum with the absence of truly wonderous sections like that of scarecrow's in the first game. But it does everything a brilliant sequel would do and that in itself is astounding. The only downside would be if this had a sequel, it's extremely unlikely to find anything that would make Bats this good, and would disappoint. But counting Rocksteady out is a fool's game. It's a short story, so it may not be worth the full $60 for you. But half that price and its worth your money. The story itself is only about 20% of the game while the rest makes up with a few side quests without any boss fights. Then the other 60% of the game is scavenger hunts for Riddler's question marks or racing from one phone booth to another. Now I'm not a plan of the precision platforming games where there is only one way to move from one linear area to another, unless the developers find a way to not make this the main part of the game. With an Arkham city to roam in, it feels more like a sandbox game with only the precision platforming interruptions when you have to enter the buildings for your quest. The big plus in this game compared to the first is that your Batman can finally knock weapons out of the enemies hands. Thank you! Plus you don't have just one attack button to mash anymore, but more like two buttons to mash plus a couple of combo moves tossed in. It's a shame that the extra characters of Catwoman, Robin, and Nightwing are paid dlc because that would have made this a more awesome game and more than just an eight hour storyline.… Expand

Very good game this.After playing the excellent Arkham Asylum,I was expecting alot,& alot i got.While i enjoyed Arkham Asylum & think its a good game,i didnt like the relatively small & claustrophobic setting of Arkham itself.Arkham City however is in a much larger area & in proper urban enviroments,which is lets face it,Batmans bread & water.You can literally spread your wings & take flight.The game still has a fixed narrative of course,but is properly free roaming now,& has a whole host of exra things to be doing alongside the main story.You start the game with ALL the skills available in Arkham Asylum,plus more to unlock in this game,so thats impresssive,plus theres the Catwoman bits.Personally i'm not interested in the Catwoman content,but even so i thought is was extremely naughty for Rocksteady to make it accessable only if you are online & have bought the game new,via a code.It doesnt bother me,as i had the option to not download it,& forgoe playing as Catwoman & play it as a pure batman experience,but on principle,i dont agree with it,as it denies the content to people that have the right no choose to not have an internet connection,but have paid for the full game.The game on the whole though is excellent.It still has that fantastic combat system,& much more enemies to use it on.It also has challenge maps,with more to unlock in game,plus the ability to re-play the game after completition in 'Plus' or normal mode,with all your unlocks & alternative choices of Batman costumes,which is great.The game is actually a massive technical achievment in my opinion.In the next game though,can we finally have Batman- 'Gotham' city,complete with Batmobile please,thanks.… Expand

"Arkham Asylum" is as close to to a masterpiece as video-games get for me, and this isn't. The atmospheres are nearly identical, and there's not much new to do. Occasionally very fun (the flying sequence), but disappointing.

Arkham City has a lot of pressure to deliver, as Batman: Arkham Asylum was one of the best games of the generation. And in almost every way, Arkham City delivers. Pretty much every villain ever, lots of wonderful new toys, genius Predator maps. In fact, once you really get into Arkham City, there's no returning to Arkham Asylum. You get so good with these new tools, AA's Batman feels ill-suited to the job. The story isn't quite as tight as Asylum's however, with villains in their many not fulfilling their potential. The ending is also fairly weak besides the very last gasp: a shocker that changes Batman himself. But, overall Arkham City is a super sequel, and improves on the previous game in almost every way.… Expand

Arkham Asylum was a class game and a truely wonderful experience, however Arkham City, whilst good, just never hits those heights. The first bugbare is the rather hard to swallow plot and introduction - without adding spoilers lets just say you have to suspend your belief a fair bit to swallow it. Then there's the sandbox element of the game - it works to a certain degree, but you never have to walk around the streets of AC and you can quite easily miss a lot of content by rushing through the game - which wouldn't be so bad if the game didn't make you want to progress far and fast so that you can obtain upgrades and complete the puzzles which are lying around. As an overall experience it just doesn't flow that well, and no sooner have you got into it than it;s ended. But it's still good, the combat flows well and moving around AC is a blast. However, another gripe is the DLC setup of the game - I'm looking at certain buildings and listening to various conversations they strongly hint at other villains which I should be encountering.....which I don't - again it pushes you on to get further and before you know it it's all over. Which wouldn't be so bad if the game hadn't thrown absolutely everything at you in terms of enemies and gadgets in the first 10 minutes. It really is a very oddly paced game and one that just doesn't work that well as a full package. Yes it's fun, yes it's worth playing, but no it's not a classic, no it's not as good as the original, and no it's not very memorable.… Expand

"Batman: Arkham City" is an amazing game that is just flat-out fun and interesting, most definately one of the best games of 2011. Arkham City is bigger and better than Arkham Asylum. The graphics and voicework is amazing and top-notch, Arkham City feels alive and breathing, you have so much exploration and so much to do in Arkham City that you will be long entertained. The plot is pretty awesome too as the plot is now much more than just trying to stop the Joker from escaping. The gameplay is perfect as always with the combat staying the same, I love Arkham City's combat controls as it makes combat intuitive and fun. There are many riddler challenges all accross the map and it is very addicting to do them. Arkham City is a mega-hit game that doesn't fail to entertain. The only flaw I see with Arkham City is that one too many villains were in the story and so some villains did not get as much spotlight as they should have but this is a tiny flaw compared to the rest of the game, nothing to damamge the experience. Overal, Arkham City is a great game that is absolutely worth playing, possibly the Game of 2011. If you like Arkham Asylum then you will definately love Arkham City. Batman: Arkham City is an outstanding sequel in every department, with stunning gameplay, an immersive world to explore and fantastically well-realised characterisation. The music and voice-acting is exemplary and the visuals are gorgeous. Batman: Arkham City is an incredibly well-crafted, labour of love and no mistake. In short, it's genius.

Without a doubt the most entertaining and rewarding game I have ever played. For a comicbook and videogame nerd, this game hit all the right marks and left me wanting more.

It is amazing how everything in this game vetch, the combat mode, the beautiful graphics, the campaign mode which has a perfect story and the epic finale, the charismatic characters and challenge modes of Rindle.

That's why writing reviews on day one is pointless. People who give a 10 have barley played it so first impression is the review you will read. A bad review is either a troll (if instant review) or will get loads of "thumbs down" on his comment because he won't give a "green" coloured review. Truth is the game is OK not bad and by no means great! It's literally the same as AA (no I'm not saying its an expansion pack "rip off") it's literally the same game but the Map is now bigger. Story was boring tbh as it didn't grab my attention like AA did. Yes there's lots of side missions but they also get boring and fast too. The story was an easy 7 hours without speed rushing. I do feel the release videos by the dev's were way over there head, I would be proud of making a bigger scale game too. But don't believe the hype. Good game but sadley not THAT much off an improvement. My opinion anyway.… Expand

This game really did improve a lot on Arkham Asylum. I love you have a lot of gadgets right out the gate and you are instantly flying around Arkham City. The story was definitely a strong point for this game and really sucked you in once I got going. I thought the main storyline was superb in how it incorporated so many people and antagonists without feeling like "okay, on to the next one". I didn't really play around with the side missions that much so I cannot really speak to the overall quality of those but I did find the few I did to fit in well with the story and the scenario without them feeling like a stray to-do list. I know everyone has mentioned this already, but the controls really are a huge improvement over the AA; combat felt tight and controllable. It seemed as though the gunmen were not as powerful this time around and the fist fighters were more powerful. In my opinion this leveled and prolonged the combat. Visually the game was a huge improvement over AA, and coupled with the 3D capabilities it was awesome. The depth of the 3D is perfect (although adjustable) and it definitely adds to the immersion without it feeling gimmicky in any way. The music was fantastic as well. I was really surprised how seamless the music was from flying around to being noticed by a helicopter and the pace picking up to it then calming down. It was extremely responsive and worked really well at invoking emotions in me that correlated with the scenario. The one thing that was bothersome at times was the open-world. I really enjoyed flying around but it got frustrating when I felt like I was going from one side of the city and then back again only to give off the impression that Arkham was a big place. I also a little annoyed with the cat woman sequences. They didn't really seem to serve a purpose to the overall story, and other than the combat I thought the sequences were rather boring. Nonetheless, these aspects did not take away that much from my experience and what I like was beyond memorable. I'll probably pick the game back up in the near future and play some of the extra content and side missions but for now I am satisfied with completing the main storyline.… Expand

This is one of the best superhero video games I've ever played. It really makes me feel like Batman, and gives me exactly what I want from a superhero game. Batman can roam in an open world, fight crime, and do several side missions. This solves one of my main problems with Batman Arkham Asylum, as there was basically nothing to do at the end of the game. The graphics are excellent, and perfectly replicate the dark feel of Batman. The story is also excellent, I would tell you about it, but that would attract the spoiler police! Overall, my only real problem with the game is that Batman may have finally gotten his free-roaming game, but he kind of got it a little late. After all, Spider-Man got his 7 years earlier (see my review of Spider-Man 2 the game for more details). Still, that doesn't change the fact that this game is excellent!… Expand

It's better than it's predecessor in every way. And if you played the first you k ow that is no easy task. Quite simply, Arkham City is one of the best games this generation. And I'm far from an avid Batman fan. I never read the comics and only enjoyed two of the movies. Sandbox style is similar to Assissans Creed and Infamous. Both those games are great, but Arkham City has even more polish. Consider all that with an excellent story and top notch voice acting, you have one very special game.… Expand

Arkham City is simply STUNNING. Expectations were high for this follow up to the critically acclaimed arkham asylum. Rocksteady have gone above expectations with a fantastic campaign that is varied in it's elements, an amazing open world in which to explore and a fantastic free flowing battle system. The game builds on everything that made the 1st game successful and added more. Playing as Catwoman for example is a fantastic change up from playing as the Dark knight as she has fantastic combat differences. I won't go on but here are my scores for the things I've taken into consideration.

A really fun adventure through the Batman universe with a great twist ending! Once again Rocksteady Studios nails it! The combat has been improved with cool new tricks for Batman as well as new gadgets. There are far more villains to take down and not to mention the ability to play as Catwoman which adds a new twist on things! Mark Hamel also does a spectacular job playing the Joker. Actually most of the voice cast does a great job voicing the heroes and villains. There are some unpolished character models and areas and at times it feels like they put too many villains in for you to wrap your head around. Either way this is the best superhero game to date!… Expand

An outstanding game that features epic scale and dramatic scope. It has a bit of a learning curve in terms of control and gameplay, but the narrative is strong and the production design is outstanding. As someone who finished the game and has claimed the Riddler Rewards, I should have stopped at the end of the original campaign. It's a major time consumer to solve the Riddles and get all of the Rewards. It's a highly rewarding game experience, that could have used a touch of more emotional pull. Batman kicks ass, but the depth could have made this near perfect.… Expand

What a great game, everything has been improved upon since the original. I was quite amazed of what seemed like an endless stream of combos and gadgets. And the Combat System is the best of its class, the animations and work gone into it are truly breathtaking - even on Secondary Characters such as Catwoman. I thoroughly enjoyed this game from beginning to end, and although they were not up to par with the likes of Assassin's Creed, I still found the Side Missions quite entertaining.… Expand

Just completed 100% the game and Riddler challenges and WOW.. Such a fantastic game! Easily as good as Arkham Asylum if not better. I kinda thought there was less stealth and gadget progression this time around, seemed to be a tad more fighting, but honestly the quotas between stealth, combat, exploration and puzzle solving were about the same. Wished the main story and side missions had been a bit longer too. Some of the side story villain missions seemed to cut a bit short. Also I have to say how unhappy I am with the Catwoman content unlock pass. I think that really wasn't necessary and it annoyed me a lot that I couldn't share the full content of this game with family members, or that in the future if my profile ever becomes compromised, I may not be able to access the Catwoman content at all. At the very least a PC style revoke tool should have been implemented so that we can move the content to different profiles and xboxs if we encounter problems. And don't believe it doesn't happen, my brother lost his profile to hackers and lost all of his GS and purchased DLC. But apart from that I thoroughly I enjoyed this game and would recommend it to any gamer, even if they aren't a Bats fan. Fantastic game. Congrats to the developers.… Expand

Wanna be a superhero, beat the villain's face, rescue the innocent citizens as your favorite comic character? Here's the one you shouldn't miss. If you love Batman series from the very beginning, you should grab Arkham City as well. There's almost no negative point to complain about the game, everything is almost perfect. Hate this game? You must be anti-fans of Batman, for sure.

What else is there to say about Arkham city? Story is awesome, fighting is great, etc. I thought Batman Arkham Asylum was the best Batman game back in 2009. When the news broke that Arkham city was announced I was spectacle at first because I didn't think the game wasn't going to be as good as the first. When I got the game, I was pleasantly surprised how great it was. It is so much better than Arkham Asylum. All the things that were lacking in the first game, Rocksteady Studios improved significantly and all the things that made the first game great made slight changes here and there, but kept the same concept. Batman Arkham City is definitely the best Batman game of all time, and one of the best games of 2011.… Expand

I'm gonna keep this review short and snappy. If you have money, buy this game. I hate superhero games, and dislike batman in general (except for the riddler) but this game is on another level, very very good.

Take everything that was great about the first game and make it even better by adding either more of it or a more polished version of it. This is not a game only for Batman fans, it's a game for video game fans plain and simple.

Arkham City is big to explore, the side missions are awesome, main quests will take about 15 hours, and then there are Riddler Trophies, Challenge Maps and New Game+. The story is fantastic and surprising as it rolls, and many of Batman's comic books characters are at least mentioned. Graphics are good, not one of the bests around, but still stunning. Gameplay is not perfect, and you certainly will take time to know what you are supposed to do, but this is definetively a great game.

Arkham City is so much better than Arkham Asylum. It's gameplay is so much better, and there is more to do. However, the riddler trophies and riddles were in too big of a quantity, and too hard to get to. This is the only flaw in an otherwise perfect game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Not being a huge fan of Batman, but having watched all movies many times it is difficult not expect something from a game in Batman universe. "Arkham Asylum" provides us with an introduction that amazes right from the first minutes till the credits. "Asylum" was solid game and perfect in many ways, but it is "City" that may have a title of masterpiece.
The game starts with gang's riot in Gotham and Bruce Wayne, without mask, wearing business costume and not regular Batman suit, being carried by Penguin's gang members.
You won't wait long till the first fight starts and protagonist puts his mask on to explore Gotham. There is main storyline that includes conflicts with Joker, Harley, Riddler, Two-Face, Penguin, Freeze and many others. Commissar Gordon, Oracle, Catwoman and Robin will be on our side during the game. Basically, all characters whom I remember in Batman universe appear in "Arkham City", and I couldn't be any happier about the cast.
Gameplay introduces some new features that you will get used to very quickly. There is much to do and explore in Gotham and Riddler puzzles return to add some headache :)
Playing as Catwoman gives much satisfaction as it gives a feeling, that Catwoman herself would made a good character in her personal game (not a movie though).
Good music, perfect level design, hilarious acting, addictive gameplay just won't disappoint anyone.
Game marker gave me pain in "Asylum", in "City" I remember puzzlement when having explored one tower I could not figure out how to get in. It does not make the game worse, but in inevitable sequel I wish there will be some work done on it.
My favourite game moment while placing a gel on a wall to explode, the wall gets broken by Bane from the other side, I'm sure that any gamer would jump in surprise.
Talking about sequel I just can't imagine how a game in Batman's universe can be any better than "Arkham City", I hope I am wrong … Expand

What's not to love about this game? It's Batman meets Assassin's Creed. A huge improvement over the last game, and the last game was pretty good. My only complaint is that I wish they let you explore the sandbox environment a little more before pushing certain elements of the main storyline. If you like Batman, video games and fun, buy this game.

Rocksteady, yet again gives you another chance to put yourself in the boots of an unforgiving anti-criminal detective in a world so terrorising and vast, it will leave you overwhelmed and speachless. Be the goddamn Batman.

This is probably my favorite game of all time. After playing and completing arkum asylum i couldnt wait to play this game only to find out its nothing like arkum asylum. This is an open world game with tons of stuff to do. The main story is more interesting this time around with multiple plot points. Im not going to spoil anything but the end is awesome.Besides the main story you can do some side missions,you have to fly around arkham city to discover them then u find them on your map and go to work. They are long and can take up to a couple hours to complete. And if thats not enough you can try to find the 400 riddler trophies and riddles. This game is sweet and most defitley one of the best games of all time… Expand

superb game in almost every aspect, the aspect this game really lacks in is the level design, i have never been forced to watch youtube so much as i did playing through this game. sometimes its impossible to find certain things throughout the game. other then that, splended visualls, voiceacting and gameplay. this game is solid and its guarenteed you will have a blast, batman fan or not.

Arkham City is better than its predecessor in every way, and that says a lot. How is it better you ask? In Arkham City, there is more to do. Instead of just main story missions there are also side missions, collectibles, and Riddler Challenges that expand upon the Arkham Asylum's Riddler Trophies. The game also adds about twice as many of Batman's foes as the original did. Each character, also has their own unique storyline and are woven into the overarching storyline seamlessly. The story is also improved over the original's by staying more true to the comics, and less true to the freelance writing that was in Asylum. The gameplay has also had minor tweaks added that improve gameplay. A couple of those improvements are: the dive bomb (used to gain speed while gliding), using the grapnel in combat and in flight, and having more quick-use commands to use in the game. There are more gadgets that have made it into the game, and that is a welcome surprise. The game is better than the original in every way, and their are few games on the market that are better. Batman: Arkham City is one of the best games of all-time and it is the best Batman game ever made. A game for the ages!!… Expand

Like it's predecessor, AC's core gameplay balances combat, stealth, exploration, and detective skills perfectly. In addition, Arkham City offers a lot of cool new gadgets, tougher enemies, and a way bigger sandbox to play in. I've been playing this game for over a month, and I'm still enjoying it (an extreme rarity, due in part to the lack of original ideas new games offer, and in part to my own short attention span). I'm actually finding it hard to find anything to complain about. The only thing that comes to mind is that Rocksteady may have gone a bit overboard on the Riddler challenges this time (440?!), as I'm still not done finding them all. I do wish that the refresh rate on the smoke pellet was a bit quicker, and that it had it's own quick-button combination (when under fire, you can simply hit Y, but when facing any other enemies you have to manually select it and hit LT+RB to drop it). Other reviews I've read have complained about the boss battles being too easy, but I actually had a tough time with both Mr. Freeze and Two-Face (for the latter, the endlessly spawning henchmen is a bit of a cop-out, Rocksteady). Other than that, it would have been nice to free-roam as Robin or Nightwing, but this is not a big deal.

I recommend Arkham City for anyone who likes action-adventure games, stealth-based combat games, or games based on comic books. If you enjoyed Arkham Asylum, you will absolutely love Arkham City. If you never played AA, you missed out on an awesome game, but AC is great place to jump back in. The only question now is where will Rocksteady take Batman next...?… Expand

Batman Arkham city is a very good game and has alot of great side missions and collectibles that will keep you busy for day's.my only complaint has to be the games end which like the first batman game was kinda lame and didn't make me feel like there was enough thought put into the closing of a great story.but this is a great game none the less.

As a huge fan of Batman I am just happy and proud to say that Batman: Arkham City is one of the if not the best best super hero and comic book game of all time. Arkham Asylum itself was a great game but Arkham City just almost surpasses it in every way. Instead of an island we have a whole large city to explore and there is so much stuff to do that once you get yourself into this amazing Batman universe you will not want to escape. This game just makes you feel like you are Batman. They also bring in alot of villians from the Batman universe all the classic villians like Two-face, Joker, Penguin among others are all here that is just pure nostalgia for long time Batman fans like myself. The main mission itself is very long and enthralling and will easily take you around 20 to 25 hours and it is just totally awesome with so many areas that you to stealth and even fight your way through in this game, some sections of the game where you have to put your fun gadgets to good use. And perhaps the biggest improvement in this game is the boss battles instead of mostly having thug battles, this game actually provides good, well designed and fun boss battles all of which are very unique and entertaining in their own. The Story despite being a little confusing and complex at times fits the batman universe and once you beat a mission you will just keep coming back for more as this game just sucks you in its universe. But thats not all there is to it, the game has even more and better challenges than its predecessor, the ability to play as Catwoman and Robin via DLCs, other side missions within the game and even the riddler challenges and trophies are funner to do this time around. The only drawback is that in order to understand the Catwoman's part of the story and get all the riddler's challenges done in the game you have to buy her DLC from the get go which may prevent some players from experiencing the whole game if they cannot afford it. Completing the game 100% will take you more than 40 hours which gives this game a very long lasting appeal along with its already high replay value. The music and voice acting are just excellent, the music always suites the environment and builds the feel of the game and all the actors provide excellent voice overs for all the characters with ofcourse Mark Hamill stealing the show as Joker. The graphics are also awesome, the characters models are well detailed and the environments are just excellent the game itself provides a really great comic book feel. In the end Batman Arkham City is a great achievement on the part of Rocksteady Studios and arguably the greatest superhero and comic book game of all time and a potential contender for the Game of the Year 2011. So, I loved "Batman: Arkham Asylum." I went into "Batman: Arkham Asylum" expecting a piece of overrated franchise nonsense, and I still loved it. It had a refreshing, if unoriginal, mix of Zelda, God of War, and the stealth of early Metal Gear Solid without any of the talking heads. But "Batman: Arkham Asylum" adds nothing new and plenty wrong. Quantity does not trump quality, and the city of Hugo Strange seems to agree with me. There's too much nonsense and none of the intrigue. Instead of my expected "game of the year," I've got an overstuffed sandbox full of pointless side missions and two dimensional villains. Seriously, is there some rule in the batman universe that every sequel has to include twice as many villains and less character development for each? Unfulfilled story aside, the gameplay is solid, if you like this sort of thing. One button attack, another to counter, a few gadgets to flesh out the hordes of villains you'll be fighting on your way to the next actual challenge, and plenty of animations to make you at least feel like you're doing more than mashing buttons. The riddler challenges are less riddles and more fetch quests. The world is bigger, though not in actual "dungeons" (or "things not on the overworld map.") Let's face it - this is the assassin's creed of batman. I liked the second assassins creed, but "AC Brotherhood" made me feel how bloated the world really was. Is there more content in "Arkham City" than its predecessor? Not really. But there's more level grinding, empty sandbox environments, and character cut-outs. So it's bigger. It's certainly not better. If you wanted a bloated, dull version of Arkham Asylum, here you go. Good riddance.… Expand

By, far the best superhero game ever created. Rocksteady clearly knows the trick, and my only advice for them is to run with it. This game perfects the ideas introduced by Arkham Asylum and at the same time it introduces bigger and even more ambitious ideas. A truly fantastic game from start to finish.

Arkham City is the Batman game. The learning curve is around 1/2 hr and you are in. Its cinematic, gets harder over time and becomes more awesome. Any new or casual gamer like me will love it. It is so far the best game I played this year.

This game is definately worthy of a 10/10 it is how a game should be, the pc version plays extremely well with a gamepad but it is still just as enjoyable with a keyboard and mouse, even if you are not into super heroes (like myself) it is still a must buy.

A stunning achievement. The Dark Knight has already Risen with the release of Arkham City. Gonna be hard for Christopher Nolan to top this....seriously. Rocksteady Games has delivered on all the promise of things to come in Arkham Asylum and released a stellar game stocked full of hours upon hours of gameplay, secrets, unlockables, and godlike awesomeness. If you loved Batman: The Animated Series like I did, then welcome to gaming nirvana. A beautifully rendered world created specifically for Batman (ahem, and *Catwoman*) to prowl and terrorize the weak and evil criminals of Gotham (err Arkham?). Batman is a walking Weapon of Mass Destruction in this game, it's utterly insane how awesome it is to kick ass with the Bat. And Catwoman is rendered PERFECTLY. Playing with her with put a smile on your face EVERY SINGLE TIME. It's heavenly. While the game has a few flaws, the lack of Two-Face who disappears after an awesome intro until the end of the game, NO BATMOBILE (this disappointed me the most because the open world set up literally invites this idea to be in the game, come on Rocksteady add the Batmobile PLEASE!!!), and some minor hiccups along the way that I won't spoil. But the game is still gorgeous, remarkable, brilliant, stunning, and glorious. Every gamer owes it to themselves to play it.… Expand

I had a lot of time on my hands when Arkham Asylum came out, so I nailed it with 1000 gamer points and was in the top 100 on the leaderboards for all combat challenges. So I think over-exposure dulled the anticipation for Arkham City, though tit would just be an extension/upgrade
Dead wrong. Everyfacet is improved. The craft, care and creativity that have gone into it make it shine on every level. Combat is better (even the thuds of impact are more satisfying), the swooping and gliding add new aspects, story is great, stealth improved and there's loads of bonus content to keep you going for weeks. Rocksteady went through a hell of a lot of work to bring this one. Batman: Arkham City is essentially Batman: Arkham Asylum on steroids, with a bigger world, side content besides picking up trophies, and an amazing story. Firstly, the game play. As with Arkham Asylum, Batman will be going from hand-to-hand combat against thugs, and criminals, and stealth based game play against armed men,both of which employ a variety of gadgets, and strategies to overcome the intimidating odds. While that was the majority of Arkham Asylum, this time around Batman has even more gadgets, and a massive open world to run around in. Before, the transitions between combat, and stealth were obvious, but Arkham City does this with smooth transitions, that unless prepared for it doesn't appear as a change at all. This serves to create a very believable environment, adding to the realistic, grittiness of the game, which is one of the reasons Arkham Asylum was so popular. As well as this, for this instalment, Batman is not the only playable character as a very attractive, and curvy Catwoman is playable for a few missions of the game, and indefinitely once the story is completed and a "free play" mode is possible. While this serves for a change in game play (slight, but still refreshing), it also serves to feed all the hormone pumped geeks, like myself, hungry for some virtual boob. The game is also stunning in the graphical, and sound department. I encountered no obvious game bugs, or glitches during my playthrough, a very shocking, and unlikely thing to occur in an open world game. The voice acting, like the the last game is spectacular with the voices from the last game such as Mark Hamill, aka Luke Skywalker the most notable, being The Joker. As well as that, there is a ton of content in the form of radio communication, and audio tapes that do nothing, but add to the amount of basis on the original Batman comics. Now with all the good there must also be some bad. Many of the added features, such as the new gadgets are unnecessary beyond the one or two puzzles they're needed for, and one can still easily make it through the game without many of the upgrades you can get. That being said however, the game does have a significant amount of upgrades for Batman, and very few for Catwoman, making it apparent that she was not put into the game beyond the occasional switch up to keep interest, and another selling point. My biggest gripe however is the addition of downloadable characters. Catwoman, Robin, and Nightwing all can be currently bought, and used in the challenge mode of the game, but that's it. Robin does make an appearance in the campaign of the game, but both him and Nightwing are only usable for a quick combat or stealth section of the challenge mode, making them again just an addition for more money to be made. This is a huge disappointment to me as I would have enjoying roaming the entirety of Arkham City as either Robin, or Nightwing, and onto that, why bother have Robin appear in the game at all if he wasn't going to do anything? But I digress, Batman: Arkham City is by far a fantastic game, and had a fantastic... well everything. A game with such a emphasis on the original comics, with such entertaining content, and riveting story make it a must buy. A well deserved 9, and indeed almost a perfect score.… Expand

The boss fights are too easy, especially if you are doing a second play through and even on the hardest difficulty, and new game plus this game can at times be too easy. This does not mean it is not challenging, but I think it should be harder. The combat is exquisite. The controls are really easy to learn, but hard to master (hence the easy to learn , hard to master). But what makes combat is the AI. Your enemies react to you when fighting. Some will run and pick something up to throw at you, others will run and hide, etc. The stealth gameplay in this game is incredible. They are more responsive and smarter than they were in Arkham Asylum. When you swing away on gargoyles, they don't just lose you and then continue walking around. They will shoot down the gargoyles making it harder to take everyone down. All the nay-sayers are lame, and just want to hop on the "batman games suck" bandwagon. There is no debate. Following the masterpiece that Arkham Asylum was, could Arkham City deliver on it's promises? Did it improve the core mechanics of the game?

It did. In fact, it surpassed my very high expectations. Arkham City is huge, gorgeous, and offers one of the greatest video game endings in the past few years.

One of the greatest games of all time. Rocksteady has not only one-upped Arkham Asylum, they obliterated it. The story is excellent and starts off with an extremely intense arrest. The voice acting is absolutely flawless for the most part. Kevin Conroy knocked it out of the park as Batman (as always), this is easily one of his best performances. Mark Hamill was fantastic as Joker, and Corey Burton was amazing as Strange. Tara had some big shoes to fill by playing Harley Quinn, but she did it, and boy was she good. The weakest voice in the game is the Penguin's. It's not terrible, but it doesn't match the rest of the game's quality voices. Nolan North is very talented, but someone like Ray Winstone would have been better. The gameplay is amazing and extremely fine-tuned, the story is interesting and engaging, the dialogue is insanely awesome and there's just so much content in the game! A definite 10/10 from me.… Expand

Let me reiterate what has been said many times in these reviews, this game gets it. The only reason someone might not like this game is if they are A. Not a Batman fan or B. Are contrarian by nature. The game has a flow unlike most games of the genre. There's a sense that the environment around you is alive. Chatter for enemies on multiple radio bands liven things and drop clues as to your best way of attacking the next objective. It reminds me a lot of Spiderman 2. There may be an issue with the combat being just a bit to easy, but you're effing Batman, and layin the smack down on thugs shouldn't be hard in the first place. Anyway, well worth your time and money, even amongst all of the stellar games coming out.… Expand

Batman Arkham City doesn't just do Batman justice, it does him perfection. From the incredible story, to the fully realized open world of Arkham City, Batman has never looked nor played so well, and this game truly shows it. Rocksteady Studios has once again outdone themselves, best they move on to Superman now.

Yes this game is way better than the first one and has plenty of bonus stuff to get you coming back for more. The story is cool, some twists here and there, good graphics, very good sound, superb game play, lots of easter eggs and you get to see the joker once again

This game sets the example of what a game should be. A solid story, solid game play, smooth combat and excellent mechanics. 1 of my very few flaws with this game is that it is too short. I completed the story in less than 7 hours. Sure, new game + lets you replay the story with all previous unlocks but where's the fun in that? Maybe after a few weeks of parting with the game sure.
The variation in villains in this game compared to its predecessor, Arkham Asylum, is very well thought out and they tie in with the story almost perfectly. Although people say that this is just a larger version of Arkham Asylum, I cannot disagree more. Sure, it's an open world game (almost like a sandbox style) whereas Arkham Asylum was almost on a linear, bottleneck path but Arkham City is so much more than that. There are tonnes of things to do such as its side missions that introduce some less heard of villains into the game, the Riddler challenges and even another characters ability to free roam once the story is complete. Speaking of the Riddler, no Batman game is complete without the Riddler and his challenges.
Challenges also make a return with more variation, characters and tasks to complete to earn those precious stars.
Robin also makes an appearance in the story but sadly, it's only a brief moment. A robin section in this game would make it a whole lot better and add on more precious hours of gameplay.… Expand

The pluses: area is bigger, the side missions are generally fun, the combat is slightly better, the story is more interesting for the most part.

The negatives: the ending is horrible (reminds me of the X-Men series), the pit battle is so anti-batman that it is just plain stupid, the AR missions (you're on a tight timeline, you get some new gear and...you do training in the middle of a prison), the riddle puzzles force you to use techniques that you'll never, ever use elsewhere just to show off the mechanisms, catwoman parts, robin's appearance.

I don't understand why publishers feel that movie, comic, TV show writers are bragging points when it comes to a game's narrative. The medias are different. AC has one of the stupider endings I've played in a long time.

I also think they went way overboard on the combat stuff this time. I think they were trying to show off or something. The combat just didn't feel as fun in AC.

Overall it is still a good game but not better than AA. I just hope they don't try to continue the series anytime soon because the next one will probably suck.… Expand

Okay so this is what I think about this game. It is very good, HOWEVER, I do not personally believe that it deserves all these amazing reviews by the critics. While there are some features that are great in this game, it feels too much like the old one. It is still the same combat system other than maybe a couple changes. And all of the side missions feel so distant from the rest of the game. I recommend it, but I would suggest just a rental for this.… Expand

What can I say that hasn't already been said? The storyline is awesome. The graphics and gameplay are impressive. The game is worth every penny. I will be playing this game over and over for quite some time.

I love every bit of this game, I didn't run into any bugs or anything, but the playtime is just too small. I mean the main storyline. Of course there are challenges and stuff, but that's just a filler already rather than another game mode. Very dissapointed with the gameplay time.

got this game just a few days after it was released. I never had Arkham Asylum or even the demo so didn't have a clue what to expect. I had never bought a game before purely off reviews due to the fact that if I did I could make a mistake. However with this game when I saw gameplay I thought it looked, average. I decided to buy it with some spare money and it actually turned out to be one of the best games I have ever played. The graphics are up-to-date and the story is so magnetic you can't stay away from it. Due to buying this game I ended up buying Arkham Asylum and you can clearly see the improvements from Arkham Asylum. The map feels fun to explore and Rocksteady have clearly put a lot of effort into this production. If you are pondering whether to buy this game, buy it or rent it, don't hesitate. The only bad thing I would say is that the story just isn't that long. If you really wanted to you could finish the story in a day but I do not think that is such a bad thing due to the pure quality and atmosphere that this story brings to your homes so I have to rate this game a 10… Expand

It's by far one of my favorite games... It blows Arkham Asylum out of the water(and that was also a great game), the characters and story are so in-depth and perfect to the 'T'. Plenty of side missions and easter eggs to complete/uncover. The challenges are fun, the dlc is equally as fun, and the gameplay is rich. This game is without doubt the BEST GAME of any superhero that has come out in the story (leaving aside that most Batman games are brilliant) has it all and does not hurt anything.

Presentation: 10/10 How do you make a sequel to the game that did everything right, setting the bar for what a comic book game could be? Add more. More challenges, more villains, more gadgets, more options, more places to go, more things to do. This is Arkham Asylum x10! A true Batman sim and the greatest game I've played in a long time. Gameplay: 9/10 Once you get used to the controls, gliding through the city, performing silent takedowns and taking on a dozen thugs at once is second nature and tons of fun. As for the environment, it's Gotham City. A piece of it anyway. As you have seen is in the comics, movies, and animation. It's Batman's play ground and every alleyway, overpass, and roof top feels the way it's supposed to. You are Batman. Graphics: 9/10 Beautiful and dark in a dirty way. The city looks and feels like it's seen better days and that's a good thing. It rains and snows in places as spotlights scan the night sky and it all looks so saturated in the Unreal Engine sheen. Texture pop-in is rare but present but when everything looks as it should it's easy to forget. Sound: 10/10 Countering a thug with his own baseball bat makes an expected crack, that's just one example that comes to mind. Sounds are never recycled and there a hundreds of them. Voice acting is some of the best in any video game and the music is moody and appropriate for Batman with obvious nods to Tim Burtons 1989 score and Hans Zimmer's latest from the Nolan films. Value: 10/10 The side missions alone feel like there own game. If the developer was greedy they could have cut this game into 3rds. They could have sold the main story for $60 and the others as DLC and you would still be getting your moneys worth just the base game with it's collectables and challenge maps. The new game plus, upgrades, and achievements make sure that the game isn't over just because you finished the main story line. You could sink a good 15 hours in your first play through without collecting a single Riddler trophy or trying your skills in a challenge map.… Expand

Game of the year for me, as with all games a few problems occur but ill get to them. Overall this game is very linear and simple except for the riddler challenges but it is very simple to play. This is what makes it great. Amazing graphics and physics, brilliant story and pacing and the best combat in a game yet. It is a thouroughly enjoying game and is definatly worth getting. There are many reasons why I consider Arkham City to be a bad game. Reason number #1. It's too silly. I'm sure Rocksteady's version of Batman was trying to come across dark and gritty, but everything from the buildings to the henchmen and their conversations that you overhear as you make your way across the rooftops come across childish and just plain stupid. I have no problem suspending my disbelief, but come on, I'm an adult. Reason #2 The 2 and a half button combat stinks. It's a watered down version for the casual gamer attempt at Assassin's Creed style combat and it fails miserably. I don't find the combat fun at all, it feels like a chore. Reason #3 The story is a mess. I'm 5-6 hours in and I have no idea what's going on, nor do I care. Reason # 4. Catwoman? Do I seriously have to play as Catwoman? and if I do then please make her put her stupid goggles on instead of resting them on her forehead. Reason # 5 Horrible voice acting and one liners. I get it, it's Batman, there's some camp involved, but there's a limit to how much crap voice acting I can take. Reason #5 The worst enemy AI ever. Here I am swinging allover the place and the enemies don't see me? All they have to do is look up. I thought that they would improve on that, but they kept it just as stupid as it was in Arkham Asylum. I traded in Dark Sould for this crap and it was the worst decision I've made all year. This game is all flash and no substance. The fact that it's critically acclaimed further proves my point that good reviews can be bought and that reviewers all follow the trends of a good review. No company wants to be the only one scoring this game a 7.5-8 when every one else is scoring it 9 and above...I have no choice but to see this game through since I bought it, but out of all the games I've played this year, Batman Arkham City has made me roll my eyes and daydream while playing the most.… Expand

Arkham City took everything I loved about Asylum and blew it out of the water! Instead of confined corridors, Batman now has an entire city full of charismatic villains played by top notch actors, beautiful graphics, a great score, excellent gameplay and lots of re-playability! My definite GOTY!

This game feels more like DLC then a new game. They also managed to cram every villain possible into this and it really clutters up the story. Also, like all negative reviews I give...no element of multiplayer in 2011? Come on..so much opportunity with this, batman and robin co-op or a batman vs villain mode. It's really amazing that after paying a monthly subscription to use your consoles online service the only thing you can do with it in most cases is just buy more dlc for the game.… Expand

BUT THEN, appeared the final boss in CLAYFACE. for the game this good, CLAYFACE to be the final boss, it really just ruins it. altogether the game is deffinately the best i have ever played but the finish surely isnt.… Expand

This game picks up where arkham asylum left off, the game feels bigger and there are a few new gadgets to make use of. The best addition to the game is the side quests that you can choose to participate in, one even setting up events for another game later on. Boss fights are much improved.

The biggest draw for me was the batman characters, the way they are portrayed in these 2 games is excellent and really got me interested, the voice acting is top notch also. Theres plenty to do, see and take in here wether you're flying about the city or spending time pitching your wits against a much more involved riddler.

This was a fun, single player game that retained all the best from Arkham Asylum and added a few new tricks!. This game sports a much bigger world to explore and a great environment that make the game seem endless. The riddler trophies are much harder to acquire and there are no riddler maps (you interrogate informants instead). If you are an achievement hunter, you will be in for the long haul!! There are 440 riddler trophies/challenges in the game to complete plus over 150 riddler challenges that stand alone outside the game. Further, to get 100% complete you must play through the game twice and complete all the side missions (some of which are incredibly annoying to find). For all casual gamers and fans of the batman comics this is a must play! Numerous villains, catwoman, and robin all make appearances in the game!… Expand

Arkham City takes many aspects of Asylum, and improves them substantially. The combat has been refined ever so slightly to make the free flow even better, and there are more gadgets to play with this time around. the setting of Arkham City is reasonable immersing and the visuals are very nice. Voice acting is phenomenal with the Joker stealing the show. However, the story this time through doesn't feel as engrossing. Much of the time while playing it, I felt like the devs were giving me objectives to do just to fill up gameplay time without any actual substantive meaning. In fact, the majority of the game had to do with the same mission and inconveniences that kept hampering Batman's progress which the player has to play an hour more to overcome. On the contrary, Arkham Asylum had a brilliant sense of pacing and discovery, and nothing felt repetitive.

Overall, City is a good sequel to Asylum in terms of gameplay, visuals, and voice acting, but lacks the great pacing and intrigue of the first game's story.… Expand

This is the perfect game. You have classic beat em' up batman style with an "Open World" style game including side missions and minigames. To those complaining about the movement if you had taken the time to master the movement and do the AR trainings you would not be so disappointed.

I really like the direction that they went with this game. I mean it looks and feels just like the original. The only problem with it is there really is nothing new here. The playing field just got larger, there are more weapons, more bosses, more Riddler trophies. The game just got bigger. That is really my only gripe with the game though

Batman was one of the best possible super hero games out there. It brings action, "detective mode", thriller, and a new perspective of Batman. In my opinion, there could have been more changes such as expanding the map and adding more gadgets. However, unlike MOW 3, it had a lot of new differences and brought some more villians from the comic series.

A great sequel. By sequel I mean it in every sense of the word. Arkham City has not recreated the wheel as we know it when we drive. Arkham City is the same prison type setting for a game that has brought respect for comic book video games. New villains, a bigger prison, and more gadgets. The combat is the same with a few more enemies to make you mad when you don't get that 30+ hit combo. The best part about Arkham City is moving from point A to point B. You feel like you are Batman and not just some Street Fighter type character.… Expand

The best game I've played this year so far. The game has a brilliant and engaging storyline, tons of gadgets, a fight system that has been refined and so many great characters from the universe that it truly is remarkable. For me to give something a 10 is a pretty big deal, I don't throw them around. But this game is addictive, immersing, clever, beautiful and huge. The main story is a little brief but with what feels like a thousand side missions it makes it feel so much bigger. The addition of Catwoman is great, she is unique and has her own little story. Though this is where my only gripe with the game is. She feels a little bit tagged on, her story is way too short, she has no gadgets worth anything except her whip. Her combat though is way smoother and faster than Batman's which makes her combat enjoyable. Her stealth element is so frustrating at times, so in respect to Catwoman more of her in every way.

But Batman is perfected, he is better than ever and considering this is Batman's story all credit goes to the game for making Batman so perfect. Now I'm gonna go glide around the city, as I have perfected how to do it and its so much fun!… Expand

This is one of the best games I have ever played. I enjoy the combat, the story and use of gadgets and more advanced riddler challenges. The open world is also fun to explore. With all that being said, I have a big problem with this game, and it's not just me. Some peoples game data is being deleted on xbox 360 versions of the game. If it was just happening to me, then I wouldn't put it in the review, but because it is happening to many people, i see it as a major flaw in the game. I put many hours into this game and now I have to start from the beginning and make a back up save data just in case this happens again. I hope they can fix this problem soon because I really do enjoy this game.… Expand

Arkham Asylum was fun because it reminded the world why Batman is awesome. Fighting rooms full of thugs, stealthing armed thugs, and having full access to Batman's toys was the name of the game, and it was undeniably fun. Arkham City took everything we loved in the old game and made it better. Expanded combat options, more techniques to use against armed guards, and even more toys are all present, but of course that's not all. The linearity of the old game was completely removed in favor of a sandbox full of sidequests, collectibles, and tons of bad guys. top that off with an excellent story with a dynamite ending, and you have a game that is worthy of being owned and praised by gamers for years to come.… Expand

Definitely one of my favorite games of the year so far. I played the first one and enjoyed it a lot. I actually didn't realize that they released a sequel! When I found the game in a Wal-mart I pretty much screamed like a girl! I really really enjoyed this game a lot. The story, the add-ons, the fighting, the graphics, everything! I really loved the campaign and the fighting a lot. I loved how Batman always had such awesome and slick moves. I enjoyed the fact that Arkham City was A LOT, bigger than Arkham Asylum, which made the experience that much more enjoyable. Definitely a game everyone should at least try out, but play the first one first because there are some parts in the story where you may not understand what happened if you haven't completed the first game yet.… Expand

While Asylum was one of the best games I have played, Arkham City doesn't live up to it unfortunately. The sandbox element doesn't feel very good. The grapling hook doesn't work half the time, the fights are quite silly and not very challenging. The best part about the game is the voice acting and story. And that are the two aspects I care the least about in games. I want fun gameplay, and this one just doesn't cut it unfortunately… Expand

It's Batman. In Gotham City (At least a large part of it) And it has Mark Hamill's swan song (seemingly) of the Clown Prince of Crime. If you love video games, if you love comic video games, and most of all, if you love the goddam batman, than I don't need to explain why this game is so damn good, just see for yourself. BUY IT.

A Stellar sequel to an already stellar game , Batman : Arkham City once again captivates and mesmerizes with its ever-faithful portrayal of the titular character and cements itself as one of the most entertaining adventures of 2011 .

Batman: Arkham City is amazing! The bosses, the story, the surprises and the fighting in a open world! I don't want to tell you much or ill rune the game for you. This is how you change a game so its not repetitive like the first and still keep the heart of the original. The only fault I see in the game is the fighting, its decent but something feels off at lest for Arkham city. Catwomen I could of done without. Don't get me wrong she was fun to try however in the end she wasn't necessary. I would pass on the DLC's your not missing much. I would say not only the best batman game out there, but best story as well, The game reminds me of the animated series and makes The Dark Knight not so epic after all. In order to love this game you have to love The Dark Knight and the Animated series. If you love both of those you will see what Arkham city built and why this is the best superhero game ever. Arkham asylum was a horror story two different styles of games, get over it change is good people, your there reason why we have **** remakes of movies ;). batman arkham ciry is full game in story/sound /gameplay/design and ...if you love batman this game has it all. all kinds of famous batman characters are here you name it joker, two face, catwoman, bane, penguin, even less popular characters like dead shot are in it. the world you explore is HUGE and theres tons of content. there were times when i just couldn't stay on the main path because there were so many side quests. one involved helping bane, another involved tracking down a killer through phone signals. all the gadgets form the last game are here and there are new ones too. the story is great there is tons of fan service. my only small complaint is that the stealth sections can be really frustrating. on hard mode guns kill you in like 3 hits and i know the game is just trying to be challenging but i cant help but feel its a bit ridiculous that batman( wearing high tech armor) can be killed with a few bullets...and trust me this will lead to extreme frustrations every now and then… Expand
