It may not pack the same shock and awe as its next-gen cousin (the visual concessions made during multiplayer and occasional bug smack of an engine cracking under pressure), but the top-drawer gameplay makes Battlefield 4 a deeply enjoyable title regardless of platform. As one of the best multiplayer games available on 360 and PS3, DICE’s shooter offers a delightfully destructive send-off to the current-generation.

Most of you have already decided whether you’re playing Battlefield 4 or not. And for those who are riddled with doubt we have the following announcement: buying Battlefield 4 will get you a multiplayer game that’ll suck hours upon hours out of your life in the coming year.

Anyone hoping that Battlefield would finally get a respectable single-player campaign will be sorely disappointed, but if you’re looking for a worthy evolution of the franchise’s sweeping multiplayer battles, you’ve come to the right place.

The current-gen version of Battlefield 4 isn't the ideal way to play, but it isn't damaged or deficient despite its limitations. It accomplishes less than you'll see on other platforms, but it's still a great multiplayer shooter that makes the most of its ambitions.

Unlike 2011’s installment, though, multiplayer excellence can't completely compensate for a misguided and rote single-player campaign, which makes BF4 an unsatisfying choice for those looking for the total package.

Battlefield 4, with its huge maps and high attention to detail is just screaming next generation. Playing on maps built for 64 players with a mere 24 seems like not only a disservice but lacking in punch too.

It may be disappointing to some that Battlefield 4’s single player doesn’t live up to a hill of beans, but what they did accomplish with the impressive multiplayer mode is something special that cannot be duplicated even by Activision’s mighty series.

There are two types of people: COD fans, and Battlefield fans. I find this game to be exactly what I want out of a shooter; tactical, challenging, and customizable to different styles of gameplay. The online is clearly the focal point of the game, but I also found the campaign to be immersive as well. You grow a raport with the characters and most importantly feel like you are in the game. It is a lot like its predecessor BF3, but I genuinely enjoy all aspects of the game. It's the thinking man's/woman's shooter. You can't run and gun and expect to live very long- which is probably why so many don't like it(they should stick to COD). Overall, I plan to play the heck out of this game for a long time to come. Decent upgrade over battlefield 3,definatley made for multiplayer. destuctive enviroments are great ,huge maps, graphics and game play. single player is average. Only real gripes are takes far to long to level up and get weapon upgrades and some of the spawn points are badly placed. The servers are working fine EA seemed to be having a problem just on release day Expand

Battlefield 4 is a good example at the fact of life that there has to be a winner and there has to be a loser. In the battle between the BF franchise and the CoD franchise, it's always been neck and neck. But with the latest installments, a winner has been crowned in my opinion. While BF4 may not be the best in the series, with it's own fair share of glitches (campaign saving glitch), the maps are still well designed and the weapons are well balanced." With a community that focusses more on teamwork instead of who can get that 25 killstreak first. I can say that I did have more fun in BF3, but if you have to chose between CoD Ghosts and BF4, you better be wise and get BF4. Expand

The reviews that rate this game 9 or 10 have to be fake. I enjoy playing this game and still will.
However having my Xbox freeze while
loading certain maps is completely unacceptable. Almost all the negative reviews are spot on regarding the stability/quality of the game.
I can deal with a little unfinished, I understand there is deadlines but to have people's systems lock up and freeze is ridiculous. My score will change to a 7 or 8 if the fundamentals are fixed.

regarding the actual gameplay, I am pleased for the most part.

The jets are not so good this time. Lack of controls and smaller boundaries make flying terrible.
You start in the jet, no more taking off...can't slow down...just terrible

Sniping has been improved imo. Perhaps the game outgrew the current gen consoles.

Dear god this game f****** sucked. I don't care if it was rushed or not, it's no excuse.
Here are the problems(which haven't been fixed as of
about a month ago, since I broke the disk):
    1. Servers constantly freeze.
    2. All of my settings reset(sensitivity, screen adjustment, ect.)
    3. Common frame rate drop outs.
    4. The total under-powered-ness of attack helicopters(scout are not as underpowered as long as you have more than two people repairing you constantly.) As, attack helicopters have a 2 minute spawn time, a 25 second flare recharge time, and are incredibly unstable when hit, forcing you to have gyro stabilizers on. When flying you have to deal with every engineer with a stinger(which is most), every other helicopter, AND the jets. You have to have some serious skill when flying, a good gunner, and be very lucky to get a 1.0+ kd.
    5. The DMRs are worthless. Quite literally, as you will be r**** if you try using them. I've unlocked most of them, and I get beat every time by ARs and SMGs.
    6. The graphics are seriously downgraded from BF3.
    7. Destructibility applies to a very limited amount of buildings.
    8. There's a map which will butt f*** you called Dawn Breaker unless you have your brightness all the way up and a flashlight on your gun.
    9. You can't change your contrast settings, so your colors will be f***** up if you want to actually see something.

This game is honestly the biggest disappointment you will buy this year. Sound does not work, graphics do not load, and glitches are constant. I actually played for 50 seconds today before my gun spawned in. This game is WORSE than a beta. Do no buy, a complete waste of money. Expand
