    Just another bemani game with horrible music that you're supposed to play with seven big buttons but instead you play it with wee buttons on the pad. [Issue#35]

    Coupled with a limited soundtrack(just nine songs, split between J-Pop anthems and corny keyboard jams)and uninteresting original characters, Beat'n simply feels like a half-hearted attempt to introduce an old game to a new audience. [Holiday 2008, p.83]

    Beat'n Groovy is a perfect example how not to make a rythm game. Not-functional gameplay elements, poor music and cheap looks. Keep those point in your pocket.

    Yeah, yeah, we know, the majority of Americans hate music games that aren't called Guitar Hero or Rock Band, but I have to give them some opportunity for at least trying to localize Pop'n Music. However, the game is a waste. Not enough effort was put into it for US consumers to enjoy it. Even if you're a die-hard Bemani fan I'd stay far away from this game. Buy something worth it, like Geometry Wars, possibly.… Expand

    As my friend said, this game gives quite a mental image as to its development: Konami looks at Voltex's little progress on the game and yells "WTF THIS SUCKS." Voltex responds they're only like a quarter done with the game, and Konami tells them to just push out what they have to XBLA and not bother marketing it.… Expand

    Patetic game. Beat'n Groovy is a poor intent of Konami, they intent revive Dance Dance Revolution and attract girls with this game, but fail. The gameplay is terrible, the graphics horrible, this game is a disaster.… Expand
