  1. The game looks good and aims high, but the problem is it's just not fun. At all.

A mediocre game a genre stocked with the highest quality. [Sept 2010, p.99]
  4. While there are aspects in the game that mimic some of the more expensive shooters out there, Blacklight: Tango Down just doesn't play well in a lot of areas.
  5. If you feel all fuzzy inside when thinking back about ancient gameplay, generic level design from the 90's, and dated visuals, if you're immune to boredom and kind of broke, there may yet be a slight chance for Blacklight to fit your needs. If that's not your case, you can always try the demo just in case, but you won't be able to say that I didn't warn you.
  6. Is this worth the 1200 MS points Microsoft is asking? No. Oh, and if I have to hear the words "Tango Down" ever again, I'm going to shoot myself.
  7. Overall, it's not that Blacklight can't be enjoyed on its own merits, because it can in the most basic sense. But when held up to scrutiny and measured against those gunning for the same lucrative audience, it's hard to recommend Blacklight: Tango Down with an absolute guarantee that you'll be completely entertained.

Other than that, it's a fairly basic online FPS with clichéd story, ranks, level unlocks, different game modes, some varied (but boring) maps, and a single-player mode that nobody cares about. There are far better FPS games on the 360, but there are far worse, too. Full Review »

Something to mention before I start the actual review isBlackLight: Tango Down is hand down, the worst first person shooter I've ever played. Something to mention before I start the actual review is that BlackLight: Tango Down plays worse than Modern Warfare 2, and trust me, that's saying something. The Graphics are muddy, poorly done, and hard to look at, even though it's using the unreal engine. The weapon customization is superb, but most of the attachments are useless, and the weapons are balanced so badly that the only weapon you'll ever need is the SMG. The maps are claustrophobic, poorly made, and promote spawn camping, and due to the graphical issues I mentioned above, make it hard to see where you're going. The amount of spawn camping found in this game is horrendously common, and it's exceedingly rare to find a game without spawn camping. Overall, I'd avoid it. Go for something else. Full Review »
