Blue Dragon might not be sheer perfection, but it still delivers a truly exemplary console RPG experience by thoughtfully executing and expanding on longtime genre traditions.

One of the best JRPGs on the 360, and while that may not be saying much, this game is truly fantastic in it's own right.

I don't usually play these types of games and I did have to comeback to it after giving up on it the first time. But it was worth it. The story does get better with progress and captured my attention. Yet, I did feel like it was targeted for a younger audience and felt silly at times.

Blue Dragon is a wild ride that has a lot of character and plot development over a wide range of environments. For those who like the traditional aspects of RPG’s like levelling up, turn-based combat and long winded dialog phases then Blue Dragon will not disappoint.
More of a solid foundation than a groundbreaking game, Blue Dragon still offers plenty to do. Here's hoping for a bit more punch to the sequel.
While it's not the next-gen opus fans have been waiting for since Sakaguchi's departure from Square in 2003, Blue Dragon is a familiar, accessible, and comfortable game with outstanding production values.
The game sabotages things right from the start by sticking you with four of the most vapid, unlikable protagonists I've seen in my 20 years as an RPG fan. [Sept 2007, p.94]
A very poor introduction to the genre for Xbox owners. It's by no means terrible; but without borrowing Sakaguchi's rose-tinted glasses, it's not much fun either.
A god game ....play it now.... xbox 360... or xbox one **** worth your time

Im gonna start this off with the positives this is a fun game and compared to a lot of JRPGs especially older ones the grinding isnt bad partially since the leveling system is split between the character's level and the class level both using two different types of exp with the Class level being far more important and once you know the right way to grind your class it takes something that could have taken days and turns it into hours making this a decent game to start playing JRPGs with (as long as you have a glass guide), the art style of the game will look familiar to Dragon Ball and Dragon Quest fans since Akira Toriyama and while I wont spoil the Story it's also pretty good and works very well with the art style, it also works very well and I truly hope this gets ported to PC at some point so more people can play this great game
now for the bad
I think the sound design is the worst part of the game a lot of the music is just generic JRPG music and would work fine in most JRPGs but the Boss music is truly awful there is a single song that is used on repeat every boss fight and while you are probably thinking that doesn't sound bad well in some areas you will end up fighting a boss every minute and the boss fights can drag on and if you lose the fight you'll go to a nearby checkpoint and will basically immediately fight the boss and hear the music again this alone is why I rated this game a 6it got so bad that I literally had to take off my headphones so I couldn't hear it cause I was getting a migraine, the next issue is the difficulty spikes it felt random in a lot of ways with some areas being super hard and compared to the previous areas it honestly just ruined the pacing of the game, the last negative I want to point out is the animations they are good but some of them take roughly a minute and yeah a Minute isn't long by itself but that adds up so you'll end up fighting the same opponent twenty time well that's roughly twenty minutes of you watching the same animation repeatedly with no way of skipping which made me partially hate the combat which while not anything unique in the JRPG genre it was still fun at first anyway but after I got tired of seeing the same animation play repeatedly for the enemies I just started to avoid combat in general which made me under leveled near the end of the game, there are mechanics that get very little explanation and these aren't minor mechanics that don't mean anything these are the class mechanics which affects how you grind, how you use certain characters in combat, and if you'll even be able to progress after a certain point in the game and honestly the way it's explained made it seem like it's not important but it's very important in fact its so important its basically the core of the game
I do think this game is worth playing if you are a fan of JRPGs and have never played it before or want to get into JRPG games and its definitely one of the best Xbox Exclusives even now and its definitely a great JRPG in general but you should look at a guide so you don't end up having to go back roughly 6 hours of playtime and then spend roughly 5 hours grinding so you can go

+ The story is just good.
+ Blue Dragon's strongest feature is it's class system.
+ You choose a class for each of your characters, where they gain skills unique to that class.
+ Music in Blue Dragon is amazing and adds a lot of character to the locations in the game.
- It's extremely easy and battles are mindless and boring, which is the games biggest downfall.
- The graphics aren't anything special.
- The game suffers from screen tearing.

So I want to say from the bottom of my heart I love anime. Its great and its one of my favorite forms of animation.I hate this game because of two reasons; First reason: It was way to ****, when I played this 15 years old I didn't want a really long drawn out game i wanted a nice clean turn base game with very little cut scenes but what i got was a game that felt it was ok to have one cut scene be five minutes long and that did that for every cut scene in the game! Nope i can't do that i want to play a game if i wanted alot of dialog I would watch the show.
Second reason: I hated the story, I know that I bought the game and hey if i bought it its cause i know a little bit about the show, well guess what that was the first time i have ever hear of any of those characters and you know what i hated all of them except that little dancing pikachu guy Marumaro and even he got really annoying. I only bought the game for three bucks, man i can't believe i wasted three bucks on that game. The game had some good parts to tho, the world the characters were in looked like Dragonball, and the art work for all the characters was really good. But a really bad story, and bizarre events that happened for no reason what so ever( the dance after you save pikachu's village) was what killed it. I recommend that you play a good RPG like Final Fantasy and stay clear of this horrible game.
