  • Summary: Powered by the all-new Prowler AI system, predators in Dangerous Hunts 2013 are now smarter, and deadlier than ever before. Animals now have the ability to form pack social hierarchies, coordinate complex group tactics and take advantage of the surroundings to set up deadly ambushes. No two scenarios are alike and what worked before will not work so well the next time around. Expand

Oddly, what doesn't come into play so much is the series' unique new feature - the heart-rate monitoring done by the optional new Top Shot Fearmaster.

The more the game buries the heart beat and stability ideas, the less it feels like something bold and innovative, and the more it feels like a fun little bonus layered on top of an otherwise straightforward game.

Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2013 will service its fanbase, but few others. The one-year subscription to a hunting magazine packaged in the box tells the whole story. This game is not broken, but also far from making any waves. If you enjoyed previous entries, you will likely be satisfied with what is here. The new gun feels good, and the shooting galleries are entertaining, but the rest just feels like it was dialed in for the yearly sequel.

Painfully low production values, unsatisfying action, and outright confusing controls.

This game has nothing to do with hunting. This is a classic shooter. You go through "corridor" and kill hundreds of animals. No stalking, luring and hunting. And there is a mode that resembles Duck Hunt (NES), but with modern graphics. As shooting range - worthy, as hunting - a failure. Collapse
