It accomplishes what it sets out to do, but the Stimulus Package feels closer to a shot of caffeine than it does adrenaline.
  2. It's a little difficult to recommend The Stimulus Map Pack because it's only three new maps, and two revamped ones, which is pretty expensive for its cost. But these maps are just amazing, so if you are a hardcore fan of Modern Warfare 2 this is a must-have for you.
  3. For those who are investing scores of hours into the game every week, the Stimulus Package will live up to its name, revitalising the game once again by providing new scope to learn, master and dominate.
  4. What might initially seem like a a greedy offering, is in fact a decent package. Two classic COD4-maps with improved graphics and new game-modes, plus another three maps added for good measure. An expensive piece of DLC, but worth it for fans of MW2.
  5. Taking into account the amount of content and pricing of 1200MSP, we've given the Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package a respectable Overall Rating of 6.5/10. Modern Warfare 2 veterans will surely be picking the Stimulus Package up, and it does what it sets out to do, in giving players some new, well laid out maps to do battle on.
  6. The main problem with the Stimulus Package is that real new content is really not much, given the price of admittance. Hardcore fans are buying it anyway, but the value isn't there.
  7. With three brand new maps and two old ones, the only thing special about the Stimulus Map Pack is the steep price. You really need to be a hardcore Modern Warfare 2 enthusiast to get your money's worth. [May 2010]
  8. Is the Stimulus Pack worth 1200 Microsoft Points? It depends. The new maps are nice enough, and offer good gameplay solutions (in particular Storm), but the price is way too much for this DLC. The return of two Modern Warfare classics is nice, but after hours and hours of play with the original game, the idea of having fun with them again is not so nice. If you're a Modern Warfare 2 supporter, probably you'll buy this DLC anyway. Else, be careful: it's not such a big deal.
  9. A nice selection of maps for the MW2 fans, but clearly overpriced to be really appealing to general audiences. Only the hardcore MW2 users will play them enough to take advantage of this polemic Stimulus Map Pack.

Nevermind whether it's any good or not. The fact that you'd even waste $15 on 5 maps is stupid. I was an idiot, a Call of Duty fanboy at theNevermind whether it's any good or not. The fact that you'd even waste $15 on 5 maps is stupid. I was an idiot, a Call of Duty fanboy at the time, who thought that nothing Call of Duty could be bad. I was wrong, not only is $3 per map a ludicrous rip-off, especially considering the size of Call of Duty maps, but they aren't even any good! Did I remember to mention that two of these maps aren't even new? They're just Call of Duty 4 maps added to MW2. You're actually paying $15 for 3 new maps, and 2 maps you most likely, already own. I can't even go on, I'm honestly not trying to be biased, but go spend your $15 on something better, you could go buy a Battlefield game, a new shirt, tons of snacks, or Medal of Honor! You will groan over seeing crash and overgrown Unless you're still putting in the hours, do not bother with this overpriced 3 map pack. You will groan over seeing crash and overgrown again - Killstreak rewards are the only difference to these tired old maps and do little to make you care to play them again. Don't get me wrong, the hardcore will love it all - but for the casual fpser, $15 is a ripoff for only 3 new maps with terrible options currently to play the new ones only. $10 these would be a great deal for, but that extra 5 is just a spit in the face with only 3 maps and 2 reused. First there are three new boards. If you played World at War. It is as if they released three subway stations. Each one is subpar and not great. The ice level is probably the best but it is not that terrific. They do give you two maps from the first modern warfare. Crash is ok but the other is a sniper fest. There is a huge problem with this release though, No achievement points. We are still stuck at 1000. Now granted they don't have a zombie map to let you work with someone to earn points but how about some points for doing some of the things online. What about adding a few more titles and emblems. Of course you have to buy the expansion because otherwise your friends will not play with you cause they want to play the new maps. World at War's first expansion was awesome. This felt more like the last expansion that WAW did which was just the SSDD. Full Review »
