80A harmless and charming racing game.
-
Although it won't be Grand Turismo or PGR, the racing engine is good enough, and the variability of racing events really makes this one very playable, not only for children, but for grown-ups who want to get in on the action too.
-
This title would be a very good candidate for any child who's a fan of the "Cars" movie or enjoys cartoony racing games.
-
60While still quite playable for several hours, the lack of true innovation or noteworthy upgrades makes Mater-National seem like more of a rushed expansion than a full-fledged - or fully necessary - follow-up to a memorable kid-friendly racer.
-
Not half as crap as many would have you believe, this'd make a top pressie for the little 'un. [Feb 2008, p.78]
-
51At times it's charming, but for the most part, it was just aggravating to experience such monotony.
-
50If you're old, knock two points off. This game will leave you feeling hollow, miserable and longing for the days when it all MEANT something. If you're a small child add two points. Or, if you really REALLY like talking cars, six.
-
But the expansion pack-sized experience--we completed it in just a single day--also retails for 50 whole dollars. [Jan 2008, p.69]
-
Simply put, this is cynical, poorly playtested nonsense that's seriously due an MOT. Geddit? [Issue 27, p.96]
