80Even without the perfect controls, Centipede and Millipede are as much fun today as they were back in the golden age of arcades. Shooting the multi-segmented, multi-legged creepy-crawlies trying to invade your space never seems to get old, and you never die in a way that feels cheap. It's always your fault, so you keep trying one more time.
-
With a solid list of hard-earned Achievement Points you might just forget that Atari failed to deliver any online modes for the game. Well, almost.
-
A worthy download if you love hardcore shooters. [Issue#23, p.97]
-
60The fact that there's no online multiplayer support is a big downer too, with leaderboards representing its only online presence.
-
57I can't help but play the enhanced versions and think that these worthless add-ons drove up development costs and therefore the price.
-
50Centipede and Millipede are the sort of simple, repetitive, no frills shooters you can get more than enough fun out of by playing the free trial version of, so we should be grateful to Microsoft for allowing people to find out why they probably shouldn't bother with this one.
-
It's all very limited and mind-numbingly repetitive - but the game's also challenging. [July 2007, p.105]
-
45Centipede and Millipede were arcade classics, but bad control and lame "evolved" modes make this package a stinker.
-
The result is a techno-soundtracked, particle-effects-spewing mess that's no more fun to watch than it is to play. [Aug 2007, p.83]
