Create feels like a hodge-podge of small ideas that don't add up to a satisfying whole.
  2. Dec 17, 2010
Contrary to its title, this disappointing puzzle game possesses little in the way of creativity.
  3. Game Informer

If pushed and polished, Create could have been a rewarding experience. Instead, it feels like EA Bright Light needed some inspiration of its own. [Jan 2011, p.82]

Create is far from a bad game, as the score I've awarded it should attest. But it consistently relies too much on sheer quantity over true freedom and intellectual quality to be a top-drawer puzzler, and doesn't live up to the implied promises of its own title enough to join the top ranks of the burgeoning build-your-own gaming revolution.
  5. Dec 17, 2010
Create is oriented to those who like puzzle-solving, but it is not remarkable within that genre. The control get tedious at times, and its map editor is not good enough.
  6. Jan 4, 2011
A bunch of good ideas, yet the puzzles feels too easy and repetitive. It's got a great customization potential, allthough it will probably lack the big community to support it.
  7. Jan 3, 2011
A family game that you can personalize in some aspects, with a good use of the physics engine and the possibility to participate in a real community including your creations. Funny and unusual, but only for a handful of hours.

But Create is clearly aimed at a younger audience, so it may be right up the alley of anyone with equal parts patience and creativity. [Jan 2011, p.73]

Create strives hard to be a worthy spiritual successor to The Incredible Machine, but falls somewhat short. For the most part, the puzzles just aren't creative or clever enough to be much fun and the presentation is outright boring. [May 2011]
  10. Jan 3, 2011
Create is a nice attempt from EA at taking a bite of the Play.Create.Share cake but in the end, its lack of personality and limited appeal makes an extremely difficult game to love.
  11. Jan 14, 2011
It lacks the kind of personality you'd expect with titles like these, but does offer the occasional serious challenge to those able to overlook the clumsy controls, annoying camera issues, and fairly average graphics.
  12. Jan 2, 2011
Create can involve the phisics puzzles lovers with a very nice gameplay, but fails in its main feature, the user content creation. A missed chance for EA.
  13. Dec 17, 2010
Despite some good physics and an interesting online experience, Create isn't very interesting at all. The controls doesn't really work properly, the menus are too complicated and the environments of the game feels downright boring.
  14. Dec 17, 2010
More than anything, Create's credo of supplying a place for imagination to flourish feels ill-conceived, like placing a toddler in a sandbox, telling her to do whatever her heart desires, then showing her the blueprints for what you're expecting.
  15. Xbox World 360 Magazine UK
    Jan 30, 2011
A refreshing change from the norm for the Xbox 360, but it's no LittleBigPlanet. [Feb 2011, p.106]

Building your own Rube Goldberg machines is nicely relaxing, and Create is a game almost entirely devoid of stress factors. The perfect game for getting your pulse down after hours of shooting people online. It could do with more player freedom, and there's a tendency for quantity over quality, but overall it's a refreshing puzzle title.

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. This game is a fun game for all ages, and this can get a child thinking!

In some challenges, they can be tricky like I was stuck on some levels in the game.

To me, I thought "Hey, this might help with some subjects at school!"

They are a selection of different items like props, animals and stickers.

In my opinion, I think this will be a great game for Christmas 2010.

The controls were goofy and instructions were not clear. I never played a game for 30 minutes and still didn't know what was going on until Create. The graphics were nice and the effects sometimes entertaining. That's a five nothing more, maybe a 4.6 if that was available. Don't buy this Full Review »

Congratulations professional game reviewers - you are narrow in your scope of game genre's. This game has received undeserving scorn fromCongratulations professional game reviewers - you are narrow in your scope of game genre's. This game has received undeserving scorn from people who simply don't enjoy the puzzle genre of games. This isn't another cookie-cut shooter. This is a puzzle game. Your job is to get an object, or objects to their goal. How you do that is up to you with the tools given. Sometimes it will be with simple tools, other times with 20 objects that you can glue together or have interact with one another individually. Some parts of this game can be challenging, others surprisingly simple. The controls aren't bad, as with any game it takes patience to learn how to do anything. This is a niche game. If you are looking to solve some puzzles, this game makes it fun to do so. It fails to deliver polished graphics, and that is my only gripe. Full Review »
