Overall Crysis 3 is just what you would expect at the end of a generation cycle. A FPS that is deep not only in its level design and scope, but tells a deep story, with deep game play mechanics. You will not find many games that do it all in one fell swoop.

Not many games would send you into battle in a super suit powered by alien technology and armed with a bow and arrows and manage to pull it all off, but Crysis 3 does.

Even though Crytek seemed to have tried to sell Crysis 3 more as a technical achievement than as an actual game, the fact is that this is a FPS that sticks out for more than its aesthetic component, by providing an experience with an identity of its own, despite being a brief one.

Although you still get some satisfaction from features that you’ve seen before, ultimately we can’t underline anything memorable this time around, at least nothing that would compare to the quality of the previous two titles.

  1. This game is beautiful and the audio is top-notch. There's no doubts about that. Great story that has an ending that fans of the series, me included, will love. The gunplay is typical of a Crysis game, but has some changes and additions that are welcome. During the campaign, you now have the ability to quickly change between 3 sets of nanosuit modules that you'll unlock as you gather upgrades. Handy for when you want to change your nanosuit to accommodate your situation. New to the series is hacking with the nanosuit. You have the ability to take over gun turrets, door panels, stun enemies, etc... There's a certain satisfaction when a gun turret clears half the enemies for you making it easy for you to progress through the missions and kill off the rest. Along with beautiful set pieces, there's enough variety throughout the campaign to warrant another playthrough. After you're done with the campaign or just want to take a break, there's the multiplayer. I have to say I'm extremely pleased with what Crytek have done to improve on what Crysis 2 had. You now have separate energy bars for Armor and Stealth. Power running and jumping no longer drain energy. You're also able to edit your current loadout during the match. With pole throwing and shields, and alien weapons strewn through the maps, there's a lot to take in with a learning curve that could take some time to grasp, but once you do you'll be hooked. I know I am. Once you get a kill streak going, take over a Pinger, and keep it going while launching the killstreaks you've earned (earned by collecting dog tags from fallen foes) is a thrill you'll want to experience many times. Mind you, this isn't your simple pick-up-and-play Call of Duty. If you want a challenge, then Crysis 3's fast-paced multiplayer is just for you. There's even a playlist for those who prefer a classic feel, sans-nanosuit. Overall, if you want a change of pace, then Crysis 3 is for you. Expand
  2. Crysis 3 is amazing game and the campaign stands out from other games. First of all, the game play is really diverse and the developers gave players a choice in how to play. You can either play stealthy or run and gun you way through the game. More game developers should offer this to players instead of one straight path. The visuals of this this game look amazing even on the Xbox 360 version. While the PC version looks amazing the Xbox 360 version still looks great. The story is pretty good but nothing about it stands out. Another thing, Crysis 3 does right is its multiplayer and its surprising really good with the suit abilities from the campaign in cooperated into the mulitplayer. Overall, Crysis 3 has a good campaign and multiplayer. Expand
  3. Crysis 3 is the latest Crysis to hit the market. So how does it do over Crysis 2? Its good but its too much the same as Crysis 2 in weapons, location and a few other stuff. No new weapons besides the bow, witch is very good. Campaign is weaker then Crysis 2' s campaign. Story is good, but not interresting at some points. Gameplays the same, but maybe thats the same case with the first and second game (never played the first game). However Crydis 3 is a lot less buggy and glitches in it then in Crysis 2. Multiplayer is still really good and a new gamemode is added were one bunch of guys or humans and one bunch of guys are invisible hunters with bows, witch is very intence stuff. Overall good game but could have been better. Crysis 3 7.5/10 Expand
  4. Gorgeous graphics don't compensate for the atrocious gameplay that crysis 3 delivers.
The game starts with a boring repetitive stealth sectio
n that just beggs to have different execution animations or at least a little bit of challenge from the Ai just something that is not as repetitive then you finally end up shooting everything at your sight and trashing the broken and useless stealth mechanic that just makes you remember there's nothing new aside from a couple of better textures that you probably won't even notice unless you pay attention at the ground that you're stepping in. The gameplay is by far the most linear and repetitive gameplay of the series so far is just you going into several different "open" sections and killing everything that even moves, the gameplay in crysis 3 can be described as going into several different rooms shoot every suicidal soldier ai and move on the next room to repeat the same process. And you are doing all of this to get a barely decent ending that can't even hold up to any story of the past games. In conclusion Crysis 3 is the worst game in the franchise yet this is the perfect example to show that gorgeous graphics cannot make a game good if the gameplay and the story and pretty much everything else just doesn't work.
