Everything about the game - its preposterous storyline, its madcap multiplayer modes - peels away at the inherent, inextricable humiliation of dancing in front of your peers. To start a dance battle in one of those modes, you have to high-five your opponent in real life. Rest assured, you are in very, very good hands.

Dance Central 3 isn't just the best reason to own a Kinect; it is the reason you need to own one.

Dance Central 3 is one of the best, if not the best, game the Kinect has to offer, and yet there is still room to grow in Dance Central 4. Here's hoping the next game will have a more refined feedback system and "Thriller" by Michael Jackson.

Like the previous games before it, Dance Central 3 is just plain fun to play. Games that my entire family enjoys are rare, and it's even rarer that I enjoy playing those games on my own as well. Playing solo (with the blinds closed, of course), even on Easy, I worked up a pretty good sweat and had a blast doing it. With excellent motion recognition, a great track list and loads of multiplayer options, it remains the best dance game for Kinect.

Well done alterations, an extensive track list and the trusted base frame prove once more that the Dance Central franchise is on top of the Xbox dancing world.

If you like the earlier games in the series, you probably already bought this one. But If you haven't played them, you should begin with this one since it's the best dancing game out there. But Harmonix has to look up, since Just Dance is closing in on them and could very well take their spot next year.

Not an evolution of the series but a step forward indeed. Good for playing "seriously" or just for fun, with a solid base that allows the developers to include crazy ideas that actually fit in the game. The track list is, as well, as good as we expected.

Dance Central 3 still offers some frustrations with the Kinect sensor recognizing certain moves, the learning curve is still a bit steeper than it could be, and having to pay to import old tracks from versions you've already purchased is the worst sort of corporate vileness, but all things considered, Dance Central 3 is a major step up from its predecessor that proves to be much more than the Kinect's best example of a functional game.

Masterstroke of fun, and does a good job moving the series in the right direction. It offers fresh new tracks for everyone to enjoy, and is far more accessible for everyone than ever before.

Packed with features and polished to a sheen, Dance Central 3 is a true evolution of what has come before. It hasn't lost focus of the core features that made its initial success popular, but the developers also haven't rested on their laurels. Much more than a simple track pack or yearly update, the latest game is sure to please anyone who plays it.

With its addition of 45 more tracks and routines to the franchise's repertoire, and its suite of new multiplayer modes that push the genre in new and interesting ways, the series is stronger than ever.

The fact that you can import music from the first two games is one of the most appealing aspects of Dance Central 3, as I personally have benefited thanks to owning more songs than I know what to do with. It's absolutely perfect for Party mode, as you almost never hear the same song twice, and Harmonix should be commended for this kind of support.

As a complete package, Dance Central 3 is the best dance game yet. Whether you want to boogie with a bunch of friends or perfect your routines in single-player, Harmonix has hooked you up with plenty of gratifying options. This may not be the end-all-be-all of motion-controlled movin' and groovin', but it once again gives the Kinect a glorious, life-of-the-party purpose.

Whereas we loved DC2 and its routines with a fierce consciousness, Dance Central 3 infiltrated our bodies without our knowing it. [Dec 2012, p.80]

With 45-songs out the box and numerous new features to get your booty shakin', the Dance Central franchise has once again shown why they are the crème of the crop when it comes to dancing games on Xbox 360 console.

I have always enjoyed Harmonix's dancing franchise, and Dance Central 3 is the best experience I have ever had with Kinect.
  18. 86
A series that has reached the height of its powers and shows exactly why dance games reign supreme on Kinect. The ridiculous, quirky story is a wonderful diversion and, as ever, partying and shaming your friends is the way to play. Subtle tweaks and changes have helped to mould Dance Central 3 into the definitive dance experience so pull on your flares (or equivalent gear) and hit the floor.

It isn't completely successful with some of its experimental features and still lacks some of the fun auxiliary modes of its sister games, but it's clear that it isn't just a glorified track pack. For all the aspiring b-boys and b-girls out there, Dance Central 3 is a great game to experienced, and an even better one to share.

Dance Central 3 is the best chapter of the saga. The multiplayer has been improved and the Story Mode provides constant motivation also to single player.

Despite a weak storyline, the new story mode makes Dance Central 3 more fun to play by yourself, although experienced dancers probably won't even touch the mode. The formula still stands firm, even recurring small irritations can't change that. Add the great Crew Throwdown mode for eight players to the mix and it's clear Dance Central has once again raised the bar.

Dance Central 3 really is the best dance game for Kinect. It doesn't matter whether you're a good dancer or not, Dance Central 3 is for everybody and it's especially nice at parties.

In terms of playability, it's challenging (and often blisteringly hard), a la development studio Harmonix's other monster hits: Rock Band and Guitar Hero.

The motion recognition works well, the choreographies are as varied as they are challenging, plus you can import the predecessors' tracks (for a small fee). And even this year Harmonix moved forward in terms of party-play there is still lots of room for improvement in this area. Four players simultaneously anyone?

This is the best tracklist in the Dance Central series and it is still fun. The best game for Kinect, now with time travel. The disco will be afraid to see you come.

While Dance Central 3 is lacking in innovation, it's straight up fun, just as Harmonix's sequels have been in the past.

Whether you're looking for a beginner-friendly dance experience, rigorous routines that challenge your skills and help you burn calories, or a terrific party game that gets everyone on their feet and having fun, Dance Central 3 is the best way to turn your living room into a dancefloor short of hiring your own personal DJ.

I do think that series fatigue is starting to set in a bit, as I wasn't nearly as willing to spend as much time with DC3 as was with the previous titles, but if you're new to the series I have no doubt you'll have a blast with what Dance Central 3 has to offer.

The best thing to do when you put on Dance Central 3 is to embrace shame, put your dignity aside and get dancing. Oh, and then there's the latest DLC, which includes Gangnam Style. You know you want to horsey dance. Oh yes you do.

By far the greatest adaptation of a digital dance experience. It's fun to play, you break a sweat an the music track is excellent. The third game comes with a wacky story and some minor improvements. [Nov 2012]

Harmonix keeps pushing forward and refining its concept with this third episode. More content, more fun, more polish, really enjoyable multiplayer modes, it's all in there for cool evenings with friends and solo fun, even though the formula remains the same.
  35. 80
Dance Central 3 is the best Dance Central to date. It's not a revolution, but it's a safe buy regardless of whether you're already a fan or a newcomer.

The mechanics are the same as always but this makes a genuine effort to address the flaws of the previous titles and make the best use of Kinect so far.

Dance Central 3 continues to proves Harmonix is one of too-few developers that understands why Kinect can be special. The track list is varied and playful in a way that works with its terrific, tough story mode, and no matter how much time you spend banging your head against tutorial walls, your effort pays off in spades.

The enhanced co-op and head-to-head modes offer new incentives to the socially minded, but Dance Central 3 rocks to the same beat as the first two. But then there isn't much room for improvement, as the first game basically nailed the actual dancing part of the equation.
  40. 80
It may not have the best soundtrack, but Dance Central 3 is polished, packed with content and utilizes the Kinect better than any other dance game.
  41. Oct 15, 2012

Dance Central 3 continues to pack in authentic routines and a rigid scoring system, but new multiplayer options, mini-games and story modes make it the most inclusive, innovative and enjoyable entry to date.
  42. Oct 17, 2012

There are not many new contents and features in Dance Central 3 that make it one of a kind. And yet, with a new Story mode, the developers offer a good opportunity for players that are eager to learn their moves alone without the need of inviting all of his neighbors. If Dance Central 3 appears to be less than Just Dance 4, the title remains interesting with its clever and difficult progression.

Definitely a must-buy if you liked Dance Central 1 and 2. Improved menus, more voice commands and better voice recognition, terrific track list covering songs from the 70s through present day hits. Story mode is a welcome addition as it improves on Dance Central 2's Crew Challenge mode. Alternative outfit unlocks, secret characters, hidden modes. Lots of replay value. Dance Challenges from Dance Central's Facebook app has been added ingame as well and is another mode that will help the online social aspect further. Party Mode and 8 player Crew Throwdowns is for local multiplayer and is definitely an improvement over Dance Central 2's Dance Battles. Minigames like Strike-a-Pose and Make-a-Move are also nice additions to add to the variety in how one wants to play. If you are one of the few who have held out on buying an Xbox with Kinect, Dance Central 3 is one of the reasons you should pick one up now. Dance Central 3 showcases Kinect's capabilities in a fun and addictive way and sure to be a staple of the Kinect stable for a long time to come. Full Review »

It's such a fun and addicting game for what it is. I just hope they conisder adding Bee Gee's, Abba, and Gangnam Style DLC. I also hope they'll create a character customization mode in the future. Other than that the songs are pretty good, but it's not my personal favorite. However, everyone has different musical tastes. I like how it's so diverse bringing back the classics. The Dance moves are great, and I just love this game. So, yes this is THE BEST DANCE GAME EVER!!!! Full Review »
