Darkstalkers Resurrection isn't just a re-release of two classic fighting games, it also stands as the best example to date of how to revive games from the 1990s on modern gaming hardware.

    Essential. [Issue#97, p.74]

In the end, Darkstalkers Resurrection achieves what it set out to do. It brings together arguably the most memorable cast of characters in a fighting game and the recent advances in online gaming netcode to make a nearly two-decade old fighting series feel fresh again.

It's been worth the wait, as the eccentric Darkstalkers offers a refreshingly unique spin on fighting games while online play keeps up with the frantic speed of the game itself. Highly recommended.

Capcom has given us two excellent titles in Darkstalkers Resurrection that fighting game fans will absolutely love.

If you've always been curious about this franchise, now is the time to take the plunge -- if you're a fan of old-school 2D fighters, you won't be disappointed.

While there's no hiding the true age of Darkstalkers 3 and Night Warriors, the Darkstalkers Resurrection package serves them faithfully and backs them up with an impressively executed online experience.

A reminder of why you want Darkstalkers 4 to happen so bad in more ways than a million. [May 2013, p.74]

A recommended collection to the ones who loved the series in the past and are missing Felicia & co, or to the ones who are willing to try one of the very first great Capcom beat-em-ups.

Fans have been clamoring for a new game in the series, and it is likely that Capcom is gauging true interest with this collection. If you are like me and cannot wait for a true Darkstalkers sequel, do not hesitate. Buy this collection now. These two games are still high on my list of favorite fighting games from the 32-bit era.

So… beautiful presentation, interesting characters, all the features we expect by now, and the ability to extend our e-penis through YouTube-able matches? If you're up for the challenge, I highly recommend this purchase.

As you fight your way to victory, whether online or offline, developers Iron Galaxy should be commended on a flawless conversion to the XBox 360.

Resurrection makes a compelling case for a proper sequel.

This package is great for old and new players alike. It’s just hard to shake the feeling that it could’ve been a smidge more monstrous.

Darkstalkers Resurrection is a good compilation and Darkstalkers 3 is a must have. Two great fighting games and solid online system with improved visuals like Street Fighter 3: Online Edition.

If you don't know them, or just want to replay them, this is a great HD adaptation of the original games. These games, anyway, have aged pretty well, and the extras included are a great excuse to enjoy them one more time.

Resurrection is a bundle of two slightly renovated classic games of the series – Darkstalkers: Night Warrior and Darkstalkers 3. It’s fun but I don’t see much of a point in such re-editions. What we need is a brand new Darkstalkers game. [CD-Action 05/2013, p.80]

In addition, the games are over fifteen years old, and no amount of HD polish can hide the fact that they simply haven’t dated well, (particularly Night Warriors). Darkstalkers is in the unfortunate position of being less accessible than both Street Fighter II and IV, and outclassed by Third Strike.
