Most of the time I dread reviewing 'kid titles', but this time I'll have to offer my hearty thanks to THQ and Blue Tongue for bringing us this sequel!

There's quite a bit of platforming. All together, the levels could take over fifteen hours, which is about normal for a game of its type. More importantly, the experience is top notch all the way.

It helps to have such a well rounded story with likeable characters but this is just the kind of game I can put on even when my kids are in the room.

What De Blob 2 lacks in online interactivity and (to some players) overall challenge, it makes up for with its charming presentation. The graphics are colorful and absolutely stunning, moving at a fresh 60 frames per second.

De Blob 2 is a fantastic, fun game. Its cute characters will have you giggling throughout playing, and the clever game design will have you marveling at how something pretty simple can be so engaging. There's enough variety and challenge to never leave you bored, even with the lack of features such as leader boards and online play.

de Blob 2 is a great game that now has the chance to be experienced by a wider audience thanks to its multiplatform status. The casual platformer is much easier this time around, but it's still an enjoyable experience.

de Blob 2 brings a much needed splash of color and energy to a genre that's become dull and tired.

Overall de Blob 2 is a fantastic title. It took the concepts from its predecessor and expanded upon them with great results.

One of those rare games ostensibly aimed at youngsters that is likely to sustain adult interest. Its core premise is simple and plays to our most base completist urges, but it never feels cheap for doing so. It may start off slow, but once the experience picks up, it becomes a delightful trip indeed.

I had no real knowledge or expectations going into this review, yet de Blob 2 proved to be one of the more unsuspecting success stories to jumpstart 2011. Kids of all ages will adore the characters and the colorful and moderately challenging gameplay, while parents can rest assured in a family-friendly experience that they won't mind participating in with the fun and non-intrusive co-op mode or even playing themselves once the kids are in bed.

Improving on the original in many ways, De Blob 2 is a funny and colourful platform experience.

If you like colors, you will like de Blob 2. Roll around and color your surroundings, so that all the gray fades away. If you're more the goth type of person, you will probably drown Blob in black ink.

I was surprised by how much fun I had with De Blob 2, considering I had never played the first. It's catchy, easy to pick up, and pleasing enough to the eyes and ears to continue playing for hours at a time. It's not without flaws, however, including some niggling camera complaints and the checkpoint system that gets worse the further you play. Still, while these do affect the end result, it's hard not to recommend the game to someone who enjoys a light, color-filled platformer to spend time on.

A success in its simply-stated goals, and worthy of a play for anybody looking to zone out and relax for a while.

de Blob 2 feels like an amiable, almost therapeutic game, so one decision leaves us bewildered. For no plot-related reason whatsoever, every world is governed by an overarching countdown timer that spans all of the many missions.

De Blob 2 can feel a bit simplistic at times, but it's still an incredibly rewarding and fun game with a great style. I just wish it were a little more complicated.

de Blob 2's cheerful demeanor and simple goals make it a natural for the younger set - or anyone suffering from Grim Shooter Ennui.

It's just a charming and fairly straightforward platformer that wears its all-ages appeal on its kaleidoscopic sleeve. Everything is bubbly and bright and freewheeling – and the gameplay is largely very good.

de Blob 2 is not quite on the verge of greatness just yet, as the repetitive nature of the game and some control issues do hold it back somewhat. Luckily they do not detract too much from a game that is trying something a little bit different and succeeding on the whole.

Entertaining, beautiful and charming, de Blob 2 may become too easy for some players, but it is also a relaxing game with colorful environments, a feature which is scarce nowadays. Its main problem is the repetitiveness of elements and gameplay, which can be felt after some hours of play.

de Blob 2 is hardly going to set the world alight but it's a fun game that doesn't take itself at all seriously. It's simplistic, it's repetitive, it's primarily aimed at kids but, if you're looking for a silly, entertaining, easily digestible experience, you could a lot worse than spend a weekend with de Blob 2.

If there's one message everyone should gleam from de Blob 2, it's that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, or a game by its premise. What the game lacks in variety it more than makes up with its enjoyable simplicity (even if it also applies to the minimal difficulty) and collectible extras.

There is one huge disadvantage to de Blob 2, the game gets really dull, really fast. That being said, de Blob is an amusing game that can make you happy within a second.

DB2's 2D-platforming segments evoke memories of Shadow Complex and Limbo at times, but unlike those(much cheaper)classics, this game can be too frustrating for its own good. [April 2011, p.83]

The real star of the presentation, though, is the sound design.

While it's a shame that De Blob 2 does not make use of the Kinect peripheral at all (unlike the PS3 version which integrates Move controls), there is still more than enough room for another solid platformer for the younger Xbox 360 crowd.

A charismatic game with relaxing and enjoyable gameplay and a very likeable main character. It's however a bit too easy for expert gamers, which could lose gamers' interest in a couple of hours.

De Blob 2 is like a blank canvas ready to have your creativity unleashed upon it. It's an excellent sequel that improves on aspects from the original and includes some new, nifty additions.

It makes an excellent addition to households with a wide age-group of gamers, but is entertaining enough that younger siblings aren't needed to justify owning a copy.

A solid game for kids that adults will probably enjoy as well. The game play is a little repetitive but it's something that everyone will find enjoyable.

Albeit initially bland, the game soon turns into a challenging and charming platform game. The 2D sequences cause nostalgia, and the game as a whole is thoroughly well designed. The few problems – especially the annoying music – are not enough to describe De Blob 2 as anything but a great game.

The concept of bringing joy into a lifeless world not only shows in the gameworld, but in the real world as well, as you smile along with De Blob 2 and its colourizing antics.

de Blob 2 is by all means an enjoyable game, one that will keep younger gamers happy and probably their parents too. But that constant repetition will quickly - and surely - wear the fun off.

At times, everything that is great about video games. Rewarding gameplay, smart visuals and a decent attempt at innovation combine to create a game that can be great fun. However, the modest challenge and increasingly repetitive gameplay conspire to highlight other flaws, meaning most players will soon tire of the saccharine charm of de Blob and his surprisingly adult revolution before the monochrome regime can be toppled.

The controls aren't as precise as we'd like, which can lead to frustrating moments, but it's hard not to smile as you play De Blop 2. It may not be king of the genre, but it's still a solid platform adventure with creative mechanics and excellent humor.

It actually pains us to be so negative about De Blob 2, as there is plenty here to love or even adore. The visuals are sumptuous; the characterisation of Blob, his friends and the gloriously dastardly Inkies is nothing short of sublime. It is also consistently diverting, the problem being that it only rarely feels essential.

One annoying time limit feature less, and this would have gotten an even better grade. Apart from that, prepare for some paint-fueled fun.

Charmin sequel that offers nothing really new -except for the 2D levels-, in which players will take the rol of Blob, jumping and painting a number of scenarios. Quite fun, but nonetheless very much the same that we saw back in 2008. It's a very interesing buy-option for those who didn't try it back then, specially on 360 and PS3.

De Blob 2 has an infectious feel-good vibe, but some frustrations cramp this platformer's funky style.

De Blob 2, like its predecessor, is an undeniably cheerful, whimsical, and infectiously amusing venture that's impossible to dislike unless you're Ebenezer Scrooge (pre-spiritual epiphany, that is). It has some creative gameplay and it satisfies that primitive need to finish a page in a coloring book once you've started it. It's not as deep as it wants to be, but it has enough substance to pick up and play after buying it for your kids (or younger siblings).

This isn't Conker's Bad Fur Day. It is still very much a game, if not bluntly for kids, that kids can play. The co-op and difficult unlockable objective stages present the game, intentionally or not, as a adventure that a parent plays with the kid. It's not a perfect game for kids or adults, but it's good for both.

While the game insists on holding your hand a little too tightly and the time limits can cause a lot of unnecessary stress, de Blob 2 remains a solid platform game with an interesting mechanic at its core.

All the ingredients of the original are there : an original gameplay mechanic centered around the "coloring" of levels and groovy, interactive musics, funny cinematics, an overall easy-going atmosphere, and an above average production value... but deBlob 2 is never able to surprise as much as its predecessor, as the innovation factor was consumed with the original episode. On top of that, this sequel suffers from a poorly paced rhythm, and a repetitiveness you soon feel too much. Too bad for those who ere expecting much of it. Despite all this, it still remains a very decent platformer with an original twist, a lot of qualities, and most of all, a ton of charm.

De Blob 2 is a platform adventure game in which you paint grim looking locations in all sorts of funky looking colours. Its luscious details and graceful design make it pure eye candy. That makes it all the more painful when you discover the monotonous nature of De Blob 2. The artificial difficulty in the form of a clock increases this painful sensation even more.
