Dungeon Defenders is deep. I don't use that word lightly. RPG fans will be in heaven with this game.

This game is definitely not for everybody. If you don't have Xbox Live, prefer to play games by yourself, or just don't have very much patience, you should probably pass on this.

Dungeon Defenders is an easy one to recommend and slides in to the 'can't miss' category, right next to some of the AAA titles we have hitting store shelves in the coming weeks. Except this one you don't have to get up off your couch to get.

A blast for anyone who's spent a few too many hours on Tower Defense games or hunting that elusive piece of magical equipment with their friends.

A difficult solo experience, but the fun increases with the number of players.

Dungeon Defenders is unlike any game you'll find on the market, and that is what makes it such a triumph. It's not without its few pitfalls, but it creates an enjoyable atmosphere that has yet to be replicated by other co-operative RPG experiences.

Dungeon Defenders is frantic, colorful and deep in a class of games that's usually just frantic and colorful.

Dungeon Defenders successfully blends strategy, rol and customization with action. A recommended game which is hard and demanding when playing solo, and very fun in cooperative.

There's a lot of caveats here, though, and if you're going into this hoping for the fun of Orcs Must Die! but in a multiplayer context, you're going to be disappointed.

Dungeon Defenders is misleading. Sweet colors, friendly characters make you believe this is a simple game. But Dungeon Defenders is a deep tower defense-game and a good one at that.

This original and exiting idea should have been backed up with more thought through menus and a more meaningful hunt for experience points. Dungeon Defenders have the content but just isn't interesting enough.

With its numerous game modes and customization options, there's a lot to do in Dungeon Defenders. Too bad its fundamentals don't measure up.

Dungeon Defenders may not be everyone's cup of tea but for those willing to give it a chance, they will have a rich game that will last quite some time if you intend to experience each class to its fullest. With a hefty price tag of 1200 Microsoft Points, some may be put off but with so many short arcade titles out there these days, it's good to finally see something that will actually be worth your money.

While you can play in single player, the game just screams for multiplayer co-op. So do yourselves a favor grab some of your Dungeon delving friends and have a go at Dungeon Defenders, you will smile and you will have some fun.

Does Dungeon Defenders stand out from the crowd? If I had to judge this game based solely on the action/tower defense/RPG gameplay, I would have to say no. None of those three features really shines and the whole isn't greater than the sum of its parts. However, the multiplayer component is done so well, with fluid matchmaking, well-balanced dungeons (for a group), and even the ability to hang out in a communal tavern between missions, it does present itself well as a great party game (either LAN or headset-over-internet). And at only fifteen dollars, it won't be too difficult to convince your friends to join in.

An unquestionable downloadable gem, Dungeon Defenders is a truly refreshing experience amongst a market dominated by whizzing bullets and big explosions. Just make sure you play it with some friends.

For what it attempts, the tower-defense aspects are not well explained enough, or implemented simply enough, to raise Dungeon Defenders above the slew of similar games out there.

Games can often sell on concepts. Dungeon Defenders is no different. But its classical style and easy to learn gameplay give it a solid edge.

Dungeon Defenders is easily AAA material at a quarter of the cost, which we don't see with Arcade titles that often. If you're in the mood for a great strategy RPG then look no further than Dungeon Defenders.

Dungeon Defenders merges RPG elements with tower defense and action aspects, and that's a good recipe. You'll rarely get so many hours of gaming fun fur such a low price.

A brilliant game that crossed tower defense with third person action and a hint of the good old RPG. Played cooperatively this little gem will keep you going for hours on end.

Dungeon Defenders is a worthwhile addition to your game library with plenty of content for the price. Although the combat falls short, the tower defense gameplay, RPG elements, and the challenging game modes will have fans of tower defense delighted.

I can talk all day about how engaging a round of Dungeon Defenders is, but I can't emphasize enough how important it is to find people to play with.

A good Live Arcade game and an original take on the tower defense genre, with good variety and an entertaining gameplay, especially if played with friends.

On one hand, the systems and gameplay here are AWESOME, on the other it seems that lessons learned in making solid single player games that are also co-op or vice-versa have been missed, and missed hard at that.

A nice blend of Tower Defense and Action/RPG gameplay, Dungeon Defenders uses the carrot (characters with a persistant progression even when you fail) and the stick (a Dark Souls-like difficulty) with talent. The artistic direction and really punishing gameplay may be its worst shortcomings, but playing cooperatively with three friends still is a very nice experience.

Dungeon Defenders is ambitious, pretty and highly addictive; co-op junkies will no doubt eat this one up.

A surprise entry for one of my personal favorite games of 2011. Dungeon Defenders is a standout title that anyone who calls themselves a 'gamer' should own.

Though the underlying action RPG mechanics are well done, constant grinding through improperly balanced levels brings the game down a couple notches.

Superb mix of Tower Defense and action role-player that is one of the year's best and most addictive co-operative games.

A few imperfections aside, developer Trendy Entertainment hit the nail on the head with Dungeon Defenders: It's unique, deep, addictive, and cheap.

And that's probably the best summation of Dungeon Defenders: a great (virtual) place to hang our with your friends.

It's a colorful, cute, and innocent title that will kick your ass if given a chance.

It strikes a balance between action, RPG, and tower defense in a way that turns it into the Castle Crashers of tower defense. It will keep you occupied for weeks and months to come, provided you have the local or online friends to play with.
