Exit 2 doesn't feel like a sequel as much as more levels with a few added twists. All of the issues from the original are back: The controls are awkward. The pacing is horrid. The AI needs work. But hey, at least a good number of the puzzles are interesting and there are a lot of them.
  2. Exit 2 doesn't add much refinement, but it does offer a formidable new serving of challenging, engaging puzzle play.
  3. The new situations alongside the few additions to the survivor characters provide a lot of new and interesting challenges. In the end, whether you pick this up will be solely based on how many of the problems you are willing to ignore to enjoy it for what it is: an 800 Microsoft Points downloadable puzzle game.
  4. It all moves at such a slow pace that there's no feeling of excitement or achievement in finishing a level. [May 2009, p.84]

My only other complaint I have with the game is that it doesn't add anything new.
  6. A disappointing outing from Mr Esc and his associates, as we’ll be expecting something very different for the next installment.
  7. The visual style and animations, brilliant level design and well thought out puzzles equate to an overall gem of an Xbox Live Arcade game.
  8. You always feel at odds with the control system on offer. [Issue#45, p.101]
  9. If you want to play Exit 2, play Exit. The experience is so much better and it will show that us gamers won't stand for them releasing the same game under a sort of different name.
  10. Exit 2 establishes a personality for itself without a story, a romance subplot, or a robust class tree. It’s just a guy, his coffee, and a whole lot of puzzles, but hey, turns out that’s really all you need.
  11. Adds very little to the already flawed and tepid Exit. If you didn't buy that, you won't want this. [May 2009, p.105]
  12. Exit 2 is a great puzzle/platform game for the Xbox Live collection but what have the programmers been up to since this game originally came out on the PSP?
  13. Exit 2 is as nicely presented here as it was on the PSP, and it’s the perfect fodder for the Xbox Live arcade.
